Problem Description
Cisco 7120/40 VPN routers running under the minimum recommended Cisco IOS® versions listed in this announcement with a QED 2.1 CPU may reload when certain OIR activity is performed. See the Workaround/Solution section below. A DDTS bug, CSCdr52028, has been filed to document the failure mode. Routers with QED version 1.4 are not affected.
Background
Shipments of Cisco 7120/40 VPN routers prior to September 2000, shipped with version 1.4 of the QED CPU. Development Engineering testing has shown that the 1.4 version of the QED CPU is unaffected by CSCdr52028.
