While using the Cisco IP Phone 7935 on an established call with mute engaged, establishing a second call on on the same line appearance will un-mute the CP-7935. While the red LED indicators are turned off, the second conversation is unknowingly heard by the original caller on the 7935.
While using the 7935 on an established call with mute engaged, answering a second call on on the same line appearance will un-mute the 7935 resulting in the second conversation being unknowingly heard by the party on the 7935.
Steps to reproduce:
Cisco CallManager 4.0(1)
CP-7935 - P00503010400
CP-7960 - P0030600GS06
Configure Line1 on the CP-7960 as a shared line with the CP-7935.
Establish an active call from the CP-7935 to another phone and mute the CP-7935. The LED's on the CP-7935 will now be red.
Place a call from another phone to the line that is shared by the CP-7960 and the CP-7935. The LED's on the CP-7935 will begin blinking green and the CP-7960 will be ringing.
Answer the incoming call on the CP-7960. The LED's on the CP-7935 will now be off, the CP-7935's call will still be up and the CP-7935 will be in an UN-MUTE state. At this point the CP-7935 should be muted, however it is not and any further conversations around the CP-7935 will be heard by the other party connected to the active call on the CP-7935.
Hang up the second call at the CP-7960. The LED's on the CP-7935 are now red and the CP-7935 is now muted.
Until a CP-7935 phone load is available the single workaround is to not share the CP-7935 line with another phone. Currently, P00503010600 is in test and planned for posting mid May, 2004.
