Problem Description
The CMP-W-2E , Control and Monitoring Processor (CMP) double ethernet, board may be incorrectly programmed and incorrectly report its name as a CMP-W when running TL1 agent 2.x with Cisco Photonics Tool Kit (CPTK).
Background
When viewing a CMP-W-2E modules running TL1 agent 2.x with CPTK the module may be incorrectly listed as a CMP-W.
Problem Symptoms
The CMP-W-2E module running TL1 agent 2.x may incorrectly report its name as a CMP-W when viewed from CPTK
Workaround/Solution

Connect to the CMP using the Cisco Photonics Local Terminal (CPLT) application

Select the CMP-W board and look in the Analog I/O tab for the value of the IOGEN HDFreeMem1 . If this value is less than 64MBytes then no further action is required, otherwise proceed to the next step

Connect to the CMP with the latest CPTK application compatible with ONS 15800/1 TL1 Agents 2.x, currently 3.0.1.

On the View window select the CMP board with the left mouse button

Press the buttons Ctrl and b

On the View window select the CMP board with the right mouse button

Select Change Type-Name in the pop-up menu that will appear

Press the pull-down menu of the field New Board Name and select CMP-W-2E. If you press c when the list of options is visible, the selections moves immediately on CMPs subset.

The field New Board Type will change automatically based on the Board Name.

Press the button Apply
-
On the View window verify that the name of the CMP is changed into CMP-W-2E.
