Cisco Building Broadband Service Manager (BBSM) Version 5.1 servers |
BBSM v5.1 servers connecting to Cisco 2950/3550 class switches shipped with IOS load 12.1x |
Problem Description
Clients cannot access BBSM v5.1 servers.
Background
New Cisco 2950/3550 class switches shipped with IOS load 12.1(9) contain a bug, which was patched by using BBSM Patch 1066. This patch and Cisco IOS® software combination has proven to be an ineffective solution in the long-term.
Problem Symptoms
Clients cannot access BBSM v5.1 servers, or experience dramatic server performance degregation.
Workaround/Solution
Customers will need to load BBSM patch 1067 and the new IOS version. Customers will need to install the new IOS on all affected 2950/3550 switches, in addition to installing the patch on all BBSM servers connected to these switches.
The BBSM patch can be provided to you directly, and will be loaded on CCO immediately. The BBSM patch must be installed in conjunction with the new Cisco IOS software image.
To follow the links below to download software, you must be a registered user, and you must be logged in.

Note: Catalyst 2950 switches running Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0.x are not affected by this and should not be upgraded. For these switches, after installing Patch 1067 on the BBSM server, change the switch type to Cisco 2950 - xx (12.0), where xx is the number of ports (12, 24 or 48).
