Problem Description
Transponders with B1 monitoring capability are not performing the B1 monitoring activity.
Background
Transponders with B1 monitoring capability are not performing the B1 monitoring activity.
Problem Symptoms
When a transponder with a disconnected B1 monitoring daughterboard is installed, the transponder may work successfully. When interrogated by an Element Manager or CPLT, however, the B1 monitoring functionality will be seen as not active.
Workaround/Solution
The problem is visible only on newly installed units. If the problem occurs, return the unit using the Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process, and indicate the unit as Dead on Arrival (DOA). After the transponder is installed in a shelf, the daughterboard cannot be disturbed by movement.
How To Identify Hardware Levels
The problem exists only on B1 monitoring transponders with a date-code/serial-number prior to 50130XXX. Transponders with the date-code/serial-number of 50130XXX or later are not affected by the problem.
