Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0(5)XP was released in November 1999 to deliver support for the Catalyst 2900XL and 3500XL. The software features that Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0(5)XP delivers to the 2900XL and 3500XL are:
- Supports a fixed standalone configuration
- File system performance enhancement, per port based CPU usage reduction
- VLAN IP Switch Virtual Interface
- Port based IEEE 802.1p QoS support
- CISCO view 5.0
