Introduction

This document describes a procedure to remove all user customizations and configurations, and to restore factory default settings. This procedure is very useful for devices that you receive from demonstration stocks.

Components Used

The information in this document is based on these software versions:

  • Cisco Enterprise Content Delivery Network (ECDN) Software 2.0 and 3.0

  • Cisco Application and Content Networking System (ACNS) Software Version 4.x

The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

Conventions

Procedure

Perform these steps for ECDN software:

  1. Log in to the console as root, and enter the default password.

  2. Issue the restate command.

  3. Issue the reboot command.

Perform these steps for ACNS software:

  1. Log in via console or Telnet.

  2. Issue the restore factory-default command.

    After the system erases and removes all partitions, it reboots itself.
