Cisco Video Assurance Management Solution 1.0

Cisco Video Assurance Management Solution (VAMS) delivers real-time, centralized monitoring of their core, distribution, and aggregation networks for broadcast video transport to service providers. Cisco VAMS provides the framework for a flexible, end-to-end assurance platform for video and is comprised of two core products:

• Cisco Active Network Abstraction (ANA) 3.6, an element management system (EMS) which supports network root cause analysis (RCA), and provides mediation and abstraction between OSS applications and network devices
• Cisco Multicast Manager 2.4, which provides a rich set of multicast monitoring and troubleshooting functions that enable Cisco VAMS to be notified of any changes in multicast or threshold events that may affect video performance

Cisco VAMS 1.0 also includes support for vendor-specific video MPEG probes and demonstrates the simplicity of adding additional probe vendor equipment as required. Through the northbound interface (NBI) of ANA 3.6, Cisco VAMS 1.0 may be combined with OSS applications such as IBM Tivoli Netcool, part of the Cisco Assurance Management Solution 1.0.
