Security for Advanced Digital Cable Services

Scientific Atlanta's Multi-Stream™ CableCARD™ (M-Card™), when paired with digital cable-ready TV, digital set-tops, or other OpenCable™ host devices, provides consumers with access to advanced digital cable services that would otherwise be protected by an embedded conditional access system.

Scientific Atlanta's M-Card – qualified by CableLabs® – and latest line of CableCARD-enabled set-tops provide the features that enable secure delivery of advanced digital cable services, such as:

• Qualified by CableLabs in March 2006 – an industry first.
• Multi-stream functions.
• Decryption of premium services.
• Support from Scientific Atlanta's Digital Network Control System (DNCS).
• Backwards compatibility with current single-stream one-way televisions, and future two-way devices.
• Simultaneous decryption of up to six video streams.
