DVB Compatibility for Advanced Video Services
Scientific Atlanta’s Explorer DVB Series of digital set-tops helps network operators in Europe, India, and emerging markets offer customers a variety of advanced video and data services. These set-tops enable operators to offer subscribers a variety of advanced capabilities, including:
- Digital Video Recording/Personal Video Recording DVR/PVR: Subscribers enjoy more convenience, control and choices, and can watch what they want, when they want¹
- High definition television (HDTV): Subscribers enjoy maximized audio and video details and clarity
- Multiple tuners: Subscribers can watch a recorded program while simultaneously recording as many as three others¹
- MultiRoom: Operators can extend the power and control of DVR to multiple televisions in the home¹
- High speed data connectivity: Subscribers get fast, dependable service via integrated Euro-DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems
- Interactive video services: Operators can offer an electronic programming guide (EPG) as well as revenue generating services like Video on Demand (VoD), and reservation pay-per-view (PPV)
- Digital Video Services: Operators can deliver clearer video and sound than they can with analog services while reclaiming valuable bandwidth
- Renewable Security: Operators can protect content and revenues with an optional subscriber identity module (SIM) smart card reader²
