Step-by-Step Procedure
Follow these steps if the Cisco Prime Infrastructure server is an OVA hosted on a customer-supplied server. Note that you will need to know the location of the Prime Infrastructure installation ISO image on the server's local hard disk before beginning this procedure.
-
In the VMware vSphere client, right-click the deployed OVA and choose Power > Power Off.
-
Right-click the same virtual appliance and choose Power > Power On.
-
Within 10 seconds of the start of the server boot, press the Esc key. The vSphere client displays the Boot Menu.
-
Choose CD-ROM Drive (option 3) from the Boot Menu.
-
Choose Connect/disconnect the CD/DVD devices of the virtual machine > CD/DVD Drive1 > Connect to ISO image on local disk.
-
Select the ISO image file from the local disk location.
-
Press Enter to boot with the chosen ISO image file. The vSphere client displays the list of boot options.
-
Enter 3 to select the Reset Administrator Password (Keyboard/Monitor) boot option. The vSphere client displays a list of Admin Usernames.
-
Enter the number shown next to the admin username for which you want to recover (reset) the password.
-
Enter the new password and verify it with a second entry.
-
Enter Y to save your changes and reboot.
