Preface
This preface describes the audience, organization, and conventions of the ATM Port Adapter and Interface Module Installation Guide. It also provides
an overview of new information in the document and how to obtain related documentation.
This guide provides information specific to initial installation of the switch hardware and software. To use this guide, you should be familiar with electronic circuitry and wiring practices and have experience as an electronic or electromechanical technician.
This guide describes the ATM port adapters and interface modules that are supported by the following products:
- Catalyst 8540 multiservice ATM switch router (MSR)
- Catalyst 8510 MSR
- Catalyst 5500
- LightStream 1010
Additional port adapters are available for the Catalyst 5500. Refer to the Catalyst 5500 hardware documentation for information about these port adapters.
