Determine Hardware/Software Combinations
This section provides information to help you determine which hardware and software combinations work with different versions of Windows 95.
First, you must determine which version of Windows 95 you run.
Complete these steps:
-
Right-click My Computer.
-
Click Properties.
-
View the window where this is displayed:
System: Microsoft Windows 95 4.00.950, 4.00.950a or 4.00.950b
This shows the Windows 95 version you run.
Refer to this table in order to determine which hardware/software combinations work with which versions of Windows 95:
|

Note: If you have Windows 95 version 4.00.950b (OSR2), you cannot use the c200_107.exe for either the Microsoft® ISDN Accelerator Pack v1.1 software or the Microsoft® Dialup Networking v1.2. These are not compatible.
CISCO200.EXE Software Installation Procedure
If you run Windows 95 version 4.00.950b (OSR2), you must use the appropriate software listed in the table. As a reminder, the c200_107.exe for either the Microsoft® ISDN Accelerator Pack v1.1 software or the Microsoft® Dialup Networking v1.2 is not compatible with Windows 95 version 4.00.950b (OSR2).
Complete these steps in order to install CISCO200.EXE software:
-
When the New Hardware Found window appears, click Next.
You do not have to insert the Driver Disk into the floppy drive.
-
Ignore the error message, Windows is unable to locate the driver, and click Finish.
-
Place Disk 1 in floppy drive a:.
Note: Do not use the Driver Disk.
-
After Win95 comes up, click Start and then click Run.
-
Enter a:\setup in the box and click OK.
-
Complete the installation as explained in your installation guide.
If you already use c200_107.exe for the Microsoft® ISDN Accelerator Pack v1.1 and are going to upgrade your Windows 95 version 4.00.950 (a) in order to use Dial-Up Networking version 1.2, you must complete these installation instructions:
-
Remove the old version of Dialup Networking. Complete these steps:
-
Choose Add/Remove Program under the Windows Control Panel.
-
Choose Windows Setup.
-
Double-click Communications.
You see that Dialup Networking is checked.
-
Uncheck the box and click OK.
This causes the Dialup Networking component to be removed.
-
-
In order to uninstall Cisco200, delete the driver from Network dialog within Control Panel, and these two files:
-
under /Windows/system, called cisco200.sys
-
under /Windows/inf, called cisco200.inf
For the Cisco210 PnP/Cisco250 PC card, you need to go into Win95 registry to search for ISAPnP/Cisco210 or Cisco250 and remove it.
-
-
Install the new version of Dialup Networking v1.2.
-
Reinstall the Cisco200 driver.
Additional Information
Only c200_107.exe works with either the Microsoft® ISDN Accelerator Pack v1.1 software or the Microsoft® Dialup Networking v1.2 for Win95 and Win95A. If you plan to use Cisco200 for Windows v4.24 (also referred to as Call Connection Manager by the field), then you do not need to use MS ISDN Accelerator Pack v1.1 or MS Dialup Networking v1.2. This product works with the Cisco 200 version 4.24 software. However, it cannot work with both Microsoft products on the same machine. Do not attempt to load both of the software packages on the same machine without the removal of the other first.
Note: Windows 98 is not supported by any of these products.
