This document describes how to recover a password on a Cisco LocalDirector User Interface (Content Verification System (CVS)).

There are no specific prerequisites for this document.
Step-by-Step Procedure

Open the <CVS server install>/Data/ServerConfig directory.

Find the file named 1.gem.

Perform a backup of 1.gem.

Open the original file in a text editor.

Replace the second and third lines of the file with these two lines:
32 "d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427exyz"0

Save the file.

Restart the CVS service.

Log in via the applet, using the default blank password.

From the GUI, change the password by choosing Server > Properties > Change Password.
