Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Aironet® products detailed in Table 1 and highlighted as follows:

• Cisco Aironet 1200 (no radio) and 1220B VxWorks-based 802.11b access points

• 1230B and 1120B IOS-based 802.11b access points

• Cisco Aironet 350 access point radio modules

• Cisco Aironet 350 802.11b workgroup bridges

• Cisco Aironet 350 wireless bridges

• Cisco Aironet 5 GHZ 54 Mbps Wireless LAN Client Adapter

• Various accessories and kits

The last day to order the affected products is November 24, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until November 24, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

This action on the above mentioned 1200 and 1220B access points marks the end-of-life for all autonomous (non-lightweight) VxWorks based devices as per the below support policies. Customers are urged to migrate to IOS-based access points or 1000 Series lightweight access points.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to 802.11b/g- and 802.11a/b/g-compliant successor products as detailed in Table 1. All successor products are fully backward-compatible with these announced products, and provide additional capabilities as well.
