End-of-Life Notice, No. 3107
Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Network Traffic Analyst (NTA) 4105 Appliance, NTA software version 1.0 and NTA software version 1.5. The last day to order the Cisco NTA 4105 Appliance and software versions 1.0 and 1.5 is April 8, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco NTA 4105 Appliance and software versions 1.0 and 1.5. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are required to migrate to the Network Traffic Analyst (NTA) Release 2.0, which includes the following features:
• RPM Install
• Ability to Core dump
• Hardening of the sensing interface
• Format output change
• Multiple payloads
• New primitives
Information about the replacement product can be obtained by contacting nta_support@cisco.com. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco NTA 4105 Appliance and software versions 1.0 and 1.5 to NTA 2.0.

Product Migration Options
The replacement for the Cisco NTA 4105 Appliance and NTA Software Versions 1.0 and 1.5 is NTA Software Release 2.0. Network Traffic Analyst (NTA) Release 2.0 (Product Number SC-NTAK9-20), includes the following features:
• RPM Install
• Ability to Core dump
• Hardening of the sensing interface
• Format output change
• Multiple payloads
• New primitives
In order to continue to obtain customer support, all existing customers must return their NTA 4105 Appliance hardware. In exchange for each hardware unit returned, each customer will receive a NTA Software Release 2.0 license at no charge.
