Cisco 7800 Series Media Convergence Servers

IBM Server Solutions

Cisco is introducing software applications from the Cisco® Unified Communications portfolio that install on specific configurations of customer-provided IBM xSeries x3250 or x3650 servers. Applications available include: Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unity® messaging, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Presence, Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace® conferencing, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise, Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal, Cisco Unified IP Interactive Voice Response (IP IVR), and Cisco Unified Expert Agent.

Customer-provided servers must exactly match configurations listed in the following sections to be supported. Any deviation is not supported, and may result in an incomplete or failed install, or postinstallation problems.
Where equivalent Cisco Media Convergence Server (MCS 7800) model numbers are given, they should be interpreted as the configurations used by Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The same MCS model used for other applications (where the MCS model has a different suffix) may use different components and specifications. Contact your local Cisco account team for more details.
For questions about purchasing any of these parts, contact an IBM representative for your country at: http://www.ibm.com/planetwide.

*Model numbers provided are worldwide generally available variant (GAV) model numbers that are not orderable as listed and need to be modified by country. The U.S. GAV model numbers use the following nomenclature: xxU. For example, the U.S. orderable part number for 8836-5SY is 8836-5SU. See the product-specific Official IBM announcement letter for other country-specific GAV model numbers.
GAV-to-MTM mapping for L.A. and A.P. Geographies: 1Mx > 11X, 1Sx > 15X, 2Mx > 21X, 2Sx > 25X, 4MY > 41X, 4SY > 45X, 5MY > 51X, 5SY > 55X. L.A. and A.P. models 4xX and 5xY will need the last digit (X) substituted with a country-specific designator. For example, Model 31X may become 31L. Please note that Asia Pacific and Latin America models of the 8836-5SY are not supported on OS 2000.4.1b. For those countries, use the x306 3.06-GHz 8836-2SY model listed and OS 2000.2.7.
