Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco SocialMiner 8.5. The last day to order the affected product(s) is February 14, 2014. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers' service contract.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco SocialMiner 9.0, which provides a number of new features, including:
1. Chat integration with Cisco Unified Contact Center Express. Cisco Unified CCX premium now uses the chat feed in SocialMiner for click-to-chat functionality, which is automatically routed and distributed to CCX agents to handle.
2. Chat transcript UI, which provides searchable full-length chat transcripts with summary details.
3. "Save draft" functionality, which provides the capability to save replies to Facebook and Twitter posts within SocialMiner and have it reviewed before posting it to the social Web.
4. Search, which offers the ability to search for specific strings associated with posts that have been captured by SocialMiner.
