Cisco Transcode Manager

Cisco Transcode Manager Analysis Node

Product Overview

Cisco® Transcode Manager (CTM) expands the revenue potential of content delivered to any device. Whether setting up a workflow to deliver IP video to a set-top box, PC, or mobile device - as a progressive download or as adaptive bitrate (ABR) over HTTP - Cisco can help you maximize your return on investment (ROI). Cisco Transcode Manager can simplify your workflow and eliminate the bottlenecks, starting with ingestion, encoding, and encryption and ending with quality check, packaging, and delivery to storage and a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
The Cisco Transcode Manager Analysis Node provides powerful decision logic functionality that routes your incoming media files and helps ensure use of the proper templates and settings for each job. The Analysis Node performs processing tasks and pre-encoding analysis of input content. The Analysis Node is an optional node in the Cisco Transcode Manager workflow, and can be customized according to your needs. We recommend one Analysis license for every five CTM Encode Nodes.

Features and Benefits

The Analysis Node:

• Provides fast, accurate scanning and organizing of incoming media assets

• Is a licensed component of Cisco Transcode Manager; no additional hardware or software is required

• Is an integrated solution that automates manual processes and filters content according to results

• Provides analyzed assets that can be encoded with the CTM Encode Node, or organized into folders by desired parameters

• Scans for resolution, frame rate, filename, audio channels, timecode, pixel format, letterbox detection, and more

Platform Support and Compatibility

Cisco Transcode Manager is optimized for use on Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) hardware, such as on the B200 M2 blade server. This provides customers with a single system that encompasses:

• Network: Unified fabric

• Compute: Industry-standard x86

• Storage: Access options

• Virtualization optimized

• Unified management model

• Dynamic resource provisioning

• Efficient scale

• Lower cost with fewer servers, switches, adapters, and cables

• Lower power consumption

• Fewer points of management
