The Speed Autonegotiate enhancement allows users to enter specific values associated with the ability to autonegotiate speed and duplex settings of switch ports. For example, a network manager can limit 10/100/1000-Mbps capable ports to 10/100-Mbps speeds. This capability can be used when the network core has not yet been scaled to support users at 1000 Mbps. Table 1 shows the speed and duplex settings that the Speed Autonegotiate feature supports.

The configured status for these speed and duplex commands is displayed through a new command: show interface transceiver properties.
