END-OF-LIFE NOTICE, NO. 344
Cisco Systems® will be discontinuing sales of the AGS+ platform in North America, ICON, and Japan effective December 1, 1995. Please note that the AGS+ platform was announced for End-of-Sale in Europe on May 1, 1995 with a last order date of November 1, 1995. This announcement of End of Sale of the AGS+ platform does not apply to spare interface boards. The following products are affected by End-of-Sale.
Table 1. AGS+ End-of-Sale Products
Cisco® will continue to support the AGS+ after End-of-Sale through our SMARTnet® and Comprehensive Maintenance programs. Customers with either of these service contracts are entitled to free software updates through all maintenance releases of 11.0, 24-hour phone support through the Technical Assistance Center, and advance replacement hardware for repairs. Comprehensive Maintenance customers also receive onsite service. Customers who do not have a maintenance contract can purchase software updates and hardware repair services from Cisco to meet specific requirements rather than full-service coverage.
Cisco recognizes the importance of protecting customers' investment. Customers often need the ability to add additional interfaces to their existing system or to update their software to a later release. Subsequently, Cisco will continue to offer spare interface boards, appliques, plates, and cables. Software releases will be available for the AGS+ through Software Release 11.0; however, this will be the last release supported on the platform.
