END-OF-LIFE NOTICE, NO. 1737
INTRODUCTION
This document represents the End-of-Life plan for the ONS 15800 Release 1.3, ONS 15801 release 1.1, CPMON 3.0 (former Pirelli WaveExplorer), IEMS 2.1 (Integrated Element Management System), CPLT 1.8 (former Pirelli WaveLook 1.8), and CPTK 1.2 (former WaveMux Installation Package or Pirelli FW Upgrade Tool).

MIGRATION STRATEGY
The target of this EoL process is to migrate all the customers at least in ONS 15800 Release 1.6/ONS and15801 Release 1.4.
Main advantage of this upgrade is the solving bugs and the adding of new features.
A slightly different approach will be taken in account for FW product and Supervision SW Product (LCI, EM).
For both products, EoL means an immediate end of support for any possible bug. The only possible solution for a bug is to migrate to a new release. In any case, for Not Downloadable FW Product only, PBU will test the compatibility of the installed products versus new product releases or sustaining ones.
Supervision System
The whole ONS 15800 Release 1.3 and ONS 15801 Release 1.1 Suite composed by CPLT 1.8.3, CPTK 1.2, CMP TL1 Agent 1.1.2, and CMP Proprietary Agent 2.1.1 has been replaced by a Spring Suite (at least): CPLT 2.1, CPTK 1.6, and TL1 Agent 1.4.
ONS 15800 Release 1.3 and ONS 15801 Release 1.1 Element Manager CPMON 3.0 or IEMS 2.1 (Integrated Element Management System) has to be replaced by CTM Release 3.0 GA or later available releases.
Serial Communication Controller
SCC(Master) FW 1.0.15 has to be replaced by the following SCC FW on the CMP-W:
SCC FW 2.0.x if the network is migrated to ONS 15800 Release 1.6/ONS 15801 Release 1.4 or later.
OADM Units
• ADA has no compatibility issue with all the ONS 15800/ONS 15801 network releases. To solve any bug, it is mandatory to replace with an ADA-D unit. The ADA-D unit is not compatible with ONS 15800 Release 1.3 and ONS 15801 Release 1.1.
• OADM-P4-R1 has no compatibility issue with all the ONS 15800/ONS 15801 network releases. To solve any bug, it is mandatory to replace with an OADM-P4-R1-D unit. The OADM-P4-R1-D unit is not compatible with ONS 15800 Release 1.3 and ONS 15801 Release 1.1 Supervision System.
Unit FW
Demultiplexer FW
1.0.10 FW, common to 8WD-B, 24WD-R, and 24WD-LLR is not downloadable. For any future bug fixing of this FW version, it is mandatory to replace the unit with a new one equipped with FW 1.0.13 that is downloadable.
Ancillaries FW
EOI-W FW 1.0.12, IOC FW 1.0.10, RBU FW 1.0.12, and SCF FW 1.0.13, 1.0.14, and 1.0.15 are not downloadable. For any future bug fixing of this FW version, it is mandatory to replace the units with a new one with the last FW version that is downloadable:

Amplifiers FW
Amplifier FW 1.0.12 is not downloadable. For any bug fixing, it is mandatory to replace the units with the last FW version:
2.0.3 for all the amplifiers but PRE-L.
2.0.2 for PRE-L.

Amplifier FW 2.0.0 is downloadable. For any bug fixing, it is mandatory to download the last FW Version:
2.0.3 for all the amplifiers but PRE-L.
2.0.2 for PRE-L.

The download is Traffic-affecting.
2.5-Gbps Transponders FW
2.5-Gbps Transponder FW 1.0.12 and 1.0.14 are not downloadable. For any bug fixing, it is mandatory to replace the units with the last FW version: FW 1.0.15.
10-Gbps No-FEC Transponders FW
10-Gbps No-FEC Transponder FW 2.0.13 is not compatible with all releases post ONS 15800 Release 1.3 and ONS 15801 Release 1.1. It is mandatory to download the new FW version 2.0.14. There will be no further support to FW 2.0.14, even if PBU will guarantee back-compatibility test for all new releases or sustaining ones.
10-Gbps No-FEC Transponder FW 3.0.0 and FW 3.1.0 are not downloadable. For any future bug fixing of these FW versions, it is mandatory to replace the units with a new one with the last FW version that is downloadable: 3.2.5.
10-Gbps No-FEC Transponder FW 3.0.1, FW 3.1.1, and FW 3.2.4 are downloadable. For any future bug fixing of these FW versions, it is mandatory to download last FW version available: 3.2.5.
No further support will be given to support 3.0.0, 3.0.1, 3.1.0, 3.1.1, and 3.2.4.
