Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® WAN Manager 12.0. The last day to order the affected product is January 1, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 1, 2009.

Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 for its enhanced user interface and additional features. The Wingz application software, which is no longer certified to interwork with Cisco WAN Manager 15.0, will follow the same end-of-sale and end-of-life schedule as the Cisco WAN Manager 12.0.
The last day to order and receive support for the Cisco WAN Manager 90-day evaluation software package is July 1, 2005. A newer version of the evaluation software is already available. For evaluation of generally available Cisco WAN Manager software, customers should use the latest 45-day evaluation software.
Similarly, the last day to order and receive support for the Cisco WAN Manager 15.1.00 software is July 1, 2005. Customers should migrate to the maintenance release Cisco WAN Manager 15.1.50, which is a superset of Cisco WAN Manager 15.1.00.
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating to the replacement product.

End of Software Maintenance Releases Date

The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.

End of New Service Attachment Date

For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.

January 1, 2007

End of Service Contract Renewal Date

The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product.

April 1, 2008

Last Date of Support

The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS

The recommended replacement for the Cisco WAN Manager 12.0 is the Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 (Table 3) which has enhanced user interface design, and removes the need to install CiscoWorks CiscoView and Wingz. Customers who have a current Cisco Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contract can use the Product Upgrade Tool to order the software upgrade at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade.
