Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 1.0. The last day to order the Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 1.0 is August 1, 1998. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until August 1, 2001.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 1.0. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 5.0, which provides the metering base for an important set of applications, including network traffic accounting, usage-based network billing, network planning, network monitoring, outbound marketing, and data-mining capabilities for both service provider and enterprise customers. PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 1.0 is the Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 5.0. Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine 5.0 collects NetFlow export data, performs data volume reduction and postprocessing, and provides to end-user applications easy access to NetFlow collection data. Cisco is currently working with numerous partners to provide customers with comprehensive solutions for NetFlow collection billing and accounting, planning, and monitoring. NetFlow collection also provides the measurement base for the new Cisco Internet Quality of Service (QoS) initiatives.
