Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® Media Gateway Manager (MGM). The Cisco MGM is an element management system for the Cisco MGX® Voice Gateway. The last day to order the affected product is 01-AUG-2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until 31-JUL-2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Transport Manager, which is an element management system that provides fault, configuration, performance, and user access security management for the Cisco MGX Voice Gateway and other Cisco networking devices, such as the Cisco CRS-1 carrier routing systems, the Cisco ONS optical platforms, and the Cisco XR 12000 Series routers. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating to the replacement product.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
Cisco Transport Manager 6.0 or later is the recommended replacement for the Cisco Media Gateway Manager. An upgrade from Cisco MGM 5.0 to Cisco Transport Manager 6.0 is supported under the Cisco MGM 5.0 Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contract. An upgrade from Cisco MGM 3.0 to Cisco Transport Manager 6.0 is not supported under the Cisco MGM 3.0 Software Application Support (SAS) contract.
