The Cisco® Signaling Gateway Manager (SGM) is the Cisco Element Management System for fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security (FCAPS) management of Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) running on Cisco 2600, 7200, 7300, and 7500 series routers. The Cisco Signaling Gateway Manager comprises:
• Media Kit Software CD
This is the CD media for installing server and client software.
• Node Right-To-Use (RTU) License
This is a legal document that entitles the end user to manage Cisco ITPs using Cisco SGM up to the number of nodes purchased.
• 100 Link Right-To-Use (RTU) License
This is a legal document that entitles the end user to manage Cisco ITP SS7 Links (in increments of 100) using Cisco SGM.
• Standby Server RTU License
This is a legal document that entitles the end user to install two Cisco SGM servers in a redundant fashion.
• Software Application Support (SAS)
This provides software support and software upgrades for the Cisco SGM. One SAS contract is needed per RTU purchased.

Upgrading from Earlier Versions to Release 4.0
If you want to upgrade to a new software release, you can order the upgrade RTU licenses. To do this, follow the instructions in Table 1 for ordering RTU licenses using the following part numbers (Table 2)

Signaling Gateway Manager 4.0 - Upgrade from 3.x
This license entitles you to an equivalent number of ITP routers and links managed at the time of purchasing the upgrade. Any additional links (in increments of 100) and/or ITP routers will require additional RTUs as specified above.

Example
UberTelecom is purchasing 20 7500 Cisco ITPs, plans to configure 350 links, and requires network management with geographic redundancy. UberTelecom would purchase one (1) each SGM-4.0-MEDIA-KIT, twenty (20) each SGM-4.0-7K-RTU, four (4) each SGM-4.0-LINK-RTU, and one (1) SGM-4.0-STANDBY. This would enable UberTelecom to manage all twenty (20) each Cisco ITPs and up to four-hundred (400) links plus install two (2) each Cisco SGM servers in a redundant configuration. If UberTelecom wanted technical support and free minor updates, they would purchase twenty (20) each CON-SAS-SGM4-7K, four (4) each CON-SAS-SGM4-LINK, and one (1) each CON-SAS-SGM-4STD.
