Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Transport Manager Releases 3.2 and 4.0. The last day to order the affected product is January 16, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 29, 2009.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the latest release of Cisco Transport Manager, which provides enhanced functionality and supports the latest releases of the managed network elements. Information about the replacement product can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/opticsw/ps2204/.
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco Transport Manager Releases 3.2 and 4.0 to the Cisco Transport Manager Release 5.0 which is the current GA release at the time of the issue of this notice.
Before upgrading Cisco Transport Manager always check that the new release supports the release of network elements to be managed.

Network element Right to Use (RTU) licenses do not need to be upgraded as they are release independent. RTU licenses that were purchased for Cisco Transport Manager Release 3.2 or 4.0 are still valid for Cisco Transport Manager Release 5.0. New RTU licenses can be purchased for additional network elements that are added to the network.
