Cisco Systems® announces Cisco® Transport Manager Release 7.2, an intelligent element management system (EMS) that supports the latest versions of Cisco ONS Family network elements along with the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System, the Cisco XR 12000 Series Router, the Cisco 7609 Router, Cisco MGX® 8880 Media Gateways, voice-enabled Cisco MGX 8850 Multiservice Switch and voice-enabled MGX 8830 Multiservice Switch.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Cisco Transport Manager intelligently supports configuration, fault, performance, and security management and serves as a foundation for integration into a larger, overall operations support system (OSS) environment. Table 1 lists the new features available in Cisco Transport Manager Release 7.2; for further information about the new features, contact your Cisco sales representative.

Cisco Transport Manager 7.2 expands its scope to include operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning (OAM&P) for the Cisco 7609 Router with Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2.18.SXF.
Support for Cisco ONS 15600 Series small form-factor pluggables (SFPs)
Cisco Transport Manager 7.2 supports inventory, fault, provisioning, and performance management of SFPs introduced on the Cisco ONS 15600 Release 7.2 SONET Multiservice Switching Platform (MSSP).
Support for Cisco ONS 15454 Radio Access Network Optimization (RAN-O) module
Cisco Transport Manager 7.2 supports inventory, fault, and circuit provisioning management of the Cisco RAN-O module on the Cisco ONS 15454 Release 7.2 SONET and SDH Multiservice Provisioning Platforms (MSPP).
Cisco Transport Manager 7.2 provides inventory, fault, configuration, and performance management for the DWDM PLIM cards of the Cisco CRS-1 running Cisco IOS XR Software Release 3.3 or 3.3.1.
Optical channel client connection (OCHCC) circuit provisioning for Cisco CRS-1
Using Cisco Transport Manager 7.2, customers can provision end-to-end OCHCC circuits between two DWDM PLIM cards, traversing either a Cisco ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) network or a dark fiber.

AVAILABILITY
Cisco Transport Manager 7.2 will begin shipping September 18, 2006. Customers can place orders through their normal sales channels beginning September 6, 2005. Existing Cisco Transport Manager customers with current Cisco Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contracts not yet expired can upgrade to Release 7.2 using the Cisco Product Upgrade Tool at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade.
Starting with Cisco Transport Manager 7.0, only the Cisco Software Application Support (SAS) contract is available.
ORDERING INFORMATION
Cisco Transport Manager consists of the base media kit, additional optional components (GateWay /Common Object Request Broker Architecture [CORBA] and High Availability), and client and network element right-to-use (RTU) licenses.
