These platforms are highly scalable, dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM), Multiservice Aggregation and Transport platforms. The Cisco ONS 15500 Series aggregates Storage, Data, and Legacy application traffic over an ultra-high, bandwidth intelligent, optical infrastructure. The Cisco ONS 15500 Series provides flexible, scalable, and highly available Optical networking for current and future high-performance, bandwidth-intensive networking applications.
SOFTWARE SUPPORT
Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(24)SV for both the Cisco ONS 15530 and Cisco ONS 15540 platforms provides the software feature support described in Table 1.
Table 1. Features Supported by Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(24)SV for the Cisco ONS 15530 and Cisco ONS 15540
Feature
Description
Secure Shell version 1 (SSHv1) Client and Server
SSHv1 for Client and Server is implemented per the standard Cisco function and commands.
Simple Network Management Protocol version 3 (SNMPv3)
SNMPv3 is required for use of SNMP in conjunction with SSH.
Counter preservation on CPU switchover
Prior to release 12.2(24)SV, a CPU switchover caused counters to be reset to zero. All history of the counters would be lost. In release 12.2(24)SV, counters are preserved at the point of the switchover and continue incrementing after switchover is complete. Counter preservation is enabled by an optional command. For a complete list of interfaces and counters supported, access the documentation via the links below.
Troubleshooting enhancements
Specific troubleshooting enhancements requested by various customers have been added to 12.2(24)SV. See the release notes and documentation for more details.
