This Cisco VPN/Security Services Specialization retired on January 31, 2005; applications are no longer accepted. A Partner with a Cisco VPN/Security Services Specialization qualifies to support the products listed below:

A Cisco VPN/Security Services Specialized Partner also possesses individual technical capbilities within the following job roles:

Engagement Manager: Effectively communicates with the account team, customer, and partner(s) for multiple project coordination including assessment of the size and scope of the network delivery strategy. Key deliverables include: well defined customer and partner-facing Statement(s) of Work ("SOW"), risk assessment/mitigation, partner and internal pricing, margin analysis, and a smooth transition to the Project Manager.

    Required Pre-requisite
  • Cisco Sales Expert (#646-201 or #SEO-281)
    SEO-281 exam has been retired, however the certification remains valid for two years from the pass date.
    or
    Cisco Sales Expert (#646-202)
    Note: From June 1, 2004 through August 31, 2004, you may earn your Cisco Sales Expert badge by successfully completing either exam #646-201 or #646-202 . After September 1, 2004 exam # 646-201 will be retired and be replaced by exam # 646-202.

Project Manager: (2 required) Is the point-of-contact for project coordination, and is responsible for project plan development, project plan execution, milestone and work breakdown schedules, P&L reporting and overall change management procedures according to the Statement(s) of Work ("SOW"). Must possess a solid understanding of technology.

    Required Pre-requisite
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2
    (1 of 2 project managers must hold certification)
    and
    Cisco Sales Expert (#646-201 or #SEO-281)
    SEO-281 exam has been retired, however the certification remains valid for two years from the pass date.
    or
    Cisco Sales Expert (#646-202)
    Note: From June 1, 2004 through August 31, 2004, you may earn your Cisco Sales Expert badge by successfully completing either exam #646-201 or #646-202 . After September 1, 2004 exam # 646-201 will be retired and be replaced by exam # 646-202.

Design Engineer 1: (1 required) Posses the ability to translate a client's immediate and future needs into a specific network design with detailed configuration specifications. Must understand the integration requirements of multiple Cisco devices supporting end-to-end features sets and the integration requirements of third party devices.

    or
    Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
