New IPSG Features

This section identifies new IPSG features available in release 14.0.

Virtual APN Support

IPSG Virtual APN configuration is supported in this release. This feature allows the carriers to use a single APN to configure differentiated services. The APN selection is based on the APN supplied to the IPSG in conjunction with the following configurable parameters:

  • access-gw-address (for IPSG this means the RADIUS client)
  • msisdn-range
  • rat-type

For more information, refer to the virtual-apn CLI command in the APN Configuration Mode Commands chapter of the Command Line Interface Reference.

Modified IPSG Features

This section identifies IPSG features modified in release 14.0. There are two kinds of modified features: enhancements and behavior changes. Enhancements are feature changes based on customer change requests. Behavior changes are feature changes that modify an existing behavior and may result from software error corrections (bug fixes).

New IPSG Configuration Commands

This section identifies new IPSG commands available in release 14.0.

virtual-apn

In support of the IPSG Virtual APN feature this command, previously available to other gateways, is now available to the IPSG. This command configures references to alternative APNs to be used for PDP context processing based on properties of the context. This command also configures the APN properties against which the PDP contexts are compared.

Note that in this release IPSG Virtual APN configuration supports only the following parameters:

  • access-gw-address (for IPSG this means the RADIUS client)
  • msisdn-range
  • rat-type

For more information, refer to the virtual-apn CLI command in the APN Configuration Mode Commands chapter of the Command Line Interface Reference.
