4 These servers are only supported in Release 1.1.2 and later.
5 These servers are only supported in Release 1.1.1 and later.
Port and IP Address Requirements
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system has two network interfaces, labeled port 1 and port 2 on the back panel of the Cisco MCS server. The operating system calls these network interfaces eth0 and eth1, respectively.
Note
The terminology can be ambiguous. The hardware ports are located on the rear panel of the Cisco MCS server and are labeled port 1 and port 2. The Ethernet ports are called eth0 and eth1. Therefore, eth0 = port 1 and eth1 = port 2.
Follow these guidelines when installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express:
•
Your system must have two Ethernet ports and two IP addresses. Both Ethernet ports must be configured for proper operation.
CautionBoth eth0 and eth1 need individual IP addresses and distinct hostnames that are fully qualified, including the domain name. The distinct hostname must be able to resolve in the DNS server with that associated IP address. Otherwise, users outside the local domain cannot access the web interfaces.
The distinct hostname must be able to resolve in the DNS server with that associated IP address.
•
Port 1 (eth0) is primarily used for voice media and HTTP signaling and for the End-User Interface and Administration Center. The hostname associated with port 1 is the one that end users see.
•
Port 2 (eth1) is primarily used for web conferencing.
•
If connectivity is lost to port 1 (eth0), no voice connectivity is possible. Port 2 (eth1) cannot be used as a redundancy solution.
CautionBoth eth0 and eth1 must be accessible by end users. (You cannot have one connected to an outside segment and the other connected to an inside segment unless connectivity is available between those segments.)
Switch Requirements
The following requirements apply to all releases:
•
Ensure that the network configuration for the two ports matches your switch configuration. This configuration can be either 100 or 1000 Mbps full duplex.
•
We do not recommend using 10 Mbps links and we do not support that for Release 1.1.2 and later.
The following requirement applies to Release 1.1.2 and later only:
•
Your switch must be set to auto negotiation if your speed is set to 1000 Mbps. Otherwise, the interface will not synchronize with the switch and you will not see any network connectivity. If you look at the back of the switch, it will show no connectivity and if you look at the back of the eth0 server, no lights will be lit.
Cisco Unified IP Phones That Support the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express System
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phone allows you to conveniently access certain Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express features by using the screen and buttons on your Cisco Unified IP Phone. For example, you can use your Cisco Unified IP Phone to join meetings, start reservationless meetings, view a list of upcoming meetings, and view meeting details. After joining a meeting, you can perform in-meeting operations such as locking the meeting, recording the meeting, viewing a list of participants, and muting or ejecting participants.
This functionality is in addition to the features available via any touch-tone telephone, including all Cisco Unified IP Phones. Only the following Cisco Unified IP Phones support the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express application:
•
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940 G and G-GE series
•
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960 G and G-GE series
Note
For Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940 G and G-GE and 7960 G and G-GE series, the minimum requirement is to use firmware load "P00306000403" — which is version 6.0(4.3) — or later. To upgrade the firmware, see the Cisco Unified CallManager documentation.
•
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970 G series
•
Cisco IP Communicator Release 1.1(5) or later
Note
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phone is not supported if you are using Cisco Unified CallManager Express.

Restrictions for Apple Macintosh Clients
•
On Mac OS 9.2, Mozilla 1.2.1 is the only supported browser. Sharing a screen from Mac OS 9.2 is not available.
•
If the hardware on which your browser is installed is an Intel-based Apple Macintosh, then you cannot share applications in the web meeting room unless you are using the Safari browser in Rosetta mode. This is a known problem with the Intel-based Apple Macintosh and the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express screen sharing plug-in that uses the Adobe Flash Player. See http://www.adobe.com/go/2dda3d81 for information on the workaround.
Note
We recommend running in Rosetta mode only if you need to share your screen, and not if you are just watching shared content. Running in Rosetta mode significantly increases your CPU and memory usage, drops performance by more than 50 percent, and puts additional burdens on all system resources. Use Rosetta mode only as a last resort.
Client Software Requirements: Linux
Make sure that Linux user workstations meet the client software requirements in Table 4, or provide these requirements to your users.
Restrictions for Linux Clients
The screen-sharing feature is not available on the Linux platform. Nevertheless, users may view and annotate screens shared by users on other platforms.
Client Software Requirements: Sun Solaris
Make sure that Sun Solaris user workstations meet the client software requirements in Table 5, or provide these requirements to your users.
Restrictions for Sun Solaris Clients
The screen-sharing feature is not available on the Sun Solaris platform. Nevertheless, users may view and annotate screens shared by users on other platforms.
Call-Control Requirements
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express requires integration with one of the call-control systems listed in Table 6.
Directory Requirements
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system requires one of the following systems for directory integration:
•
Cisco Unified CallManager 3.3 or later
•
Cisco Unified CallManager 3.3 or later using Microsoft Active Directory 2000 or later
•
Cisco Unified CallManager 3.3 or later using SunONE Directory Server 5.2
Quality of Service (QoS) Requirements
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system requires a network enabled with DiffServ (RFC 2474, 2475) QoS for voice traffic.
Ad Hoc Web Conferencing Requirements
On a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system, ad hoc web conferencing is supported with Cisco Unified Personal Communicator Release 1.1 and later releases. For more information about integrating with Cisco Unified Personal Communicator, see the Configuration and Maintenance Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express.
Note
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.1 and earlier is not compatible with Cisco Unified Personal Communicator Release 1.1.

Changed Name of Product Suite
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express product was formerly called "Cisco MeetingPlace Express" but has changed as of March 6, 2006. Cisco Systems, Inc. debuted a new product line called Cisco Unified Communications, of which Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express is a part.
Other products affected by this new product line include Cisco Unified CallManager, Cisco Unified IP Phone, Cisco Unified Video Advantage, and Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.
Added Support for Additional Servers
In Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.2, we added support for the following servers:
•
Cisco MCS 7825-H2-RC1
•
Cisco MCS 7825-I2-RC1
•
Cisco MCS 7845H-3.0-IPC1
•
Cisco MCS 7845-H1-RC1
•
Cisco MCS 7845-I1-RC1
See the "Supported Servers" section for details.
Added Cisco Unified Personal Communicator Support
This feature allows Cisco Unified Personal Communicator Release 1.1 users to attend a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express web-only meeting.
Note
These web-only meetings have no voice component—the voice component of the meeting is handled by Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.
To initiate a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express web-only meeting, a Cisco Unified Personal Communicator user must have a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express profile; however, to attend a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express web-only meeting, Cisco Unified Personal Communicator users do not need a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express profile.
When a Cisco Unified Personal Communicator user initiates a web-only meeting, the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system assigns a unique meeting ID to the web-only meeting (but does not display this meeting ID on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express End-User Interface). The web-only meeting launches automatically and brings in all Cisco Unified Personal Communicator users as guests. No Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express profile passwords are required.
Non-Cisco Unified Personal Communicator users can also attend the web-only meeting but they have to receive and enter the web-only meeting's URL manually. The meeting initiator usually supplies the URL to non-Cisco Unified Personal Communicator users.
Added Support for French, German, and Australian English
In Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.1 and earlier, we only supported English (US) (English as spoken in the United States) in the End-User Interface, the web meeting room, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phones, and the end-user documentation. Voice prompts were in English (US) and English (UK).
In Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.2, we added support in the End-User Interface, the web meeting room, the voice prompts, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phones, and the end-user documentation for the following languages:
•
French (FR) (French as spoken in France)
•
German
We also added voice prompts in the following languages:
•
French (CA) (French as spoken in Canada)
•
English (AU) (English as spoken in Australia)
Note
These languages are only supported in Release 1.1.2 and are not supported in Release 1.1.3.
Upgraded the License Capabilities
The system software license enables all other Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express licenses. If you do not install the system software license, or if the version is obsolete, the system behaves as if there are no voice or web conferencing licenses installed: the system ignores any voice or web conferencing licenses and uses the default values for those (six each). (The only exception is if you have a web conferencing license installed with no system software license, then the system honors the six web conferencing licenses as permanent, meaning they will not expire after 60 days.)
If you later buy more voice or web conferencing licenses, when you install the new voice or web conferencing licenses, the system will still ignore them and operate with the default values (six each). You must install the system software license for the system to use the voice and web conferencing licenses.
Updated the Network Configuration Installation
In Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.2, we updated the screens during the operating system installation where you enter the network configuration details, such as the IP values for eth0 and eth1. In Release 1.1.1 and earlier, you had to enter values on several screens, but in Release 1.1.2, you only need to enter values on a single screen.
Changed the Configuration for Backups
In Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.2, we removed the local (CP) method of archiving. The only archiving method supported in Release 1.1.2 is remote SSH/rsync (previously called SCP).
Changed the Cisco Unified CallManager Authentication to a PIN
Cisco Unified CallManager has two fields for authenticating Cisco Unified IP Phone users: the user password and the PIN. In Release 1.1.2, we changed the password required by Cisco Unified CallManager from the user password to the PIN. Authentication over telephones typically uses a PIN.
For systems that were installed before Release 1.1.2, the system administrator must ensure that all end users enter their PINs in Cisco Unified CallManager. See the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1 for information on how to do this.
New and Changed Information in Release 1.1.3
The following are new features in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.3:
•
Changed Language Support for French, German, and Australian English
•
Increased Product Scalability
•
Updates to the Licenses Summary Page
•
Updates to the Port Ranges on the Meeting Configuration Page
•
Added the FTP Archiving Method
•
Added a Save and Run Archiving Button
•
Added Ability to Export Meeting Information for Meetings That Have Ended
•
Added Ability to Delete Dialing Groups
•
Updated the Import Logs Procedure
•
Updated the Customize the Edit Profile Page
Changed Language Support for French, German, and Australian English
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.3 does not support French (FR) (French as spoken in France), German, French (CA) (French as spoken in Canada), and English (AU) (English as spoken in Australia). If you require one or more of these languages and you need to upgrade your system, we suggest waiting for the follow-up release, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.4.
Increased Product Scalability
Increased the product scalability so that Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express now supports up to 200 telephony and web conferencing ports.
Streamlined the Installation
Changed the installation to add built-in checks for the operating system, platform, and disk space. Removed the need for a preparatory disk. See the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1 for complete information.
Updates to the Licenses Summary Page
The Licenses Summary page of the Administration Center has been modified to display which installed licenses are actually enabled, as well as any system-specific limitations for each license. See the new field descriptions in Table 7.
Updates to the Port Ranges on the Meeting Configuration Page
On the Meeting Configuration page of the Administration Center, the maximum number of voice and web ports that you can configure in the following fields depend on the number of enabled voiceconf and webconf licenses on the system. The system automatically updates the available port ranges that are displayed next to each field:
•
Access ports
•
Floater ports
•
Overbook ports
•
Web ports
•
Web floater ports
•
Web overbook ports
•
Maximum ports per meeting for Reservationless
•
Maximum ports per meeting for Scheduled
•
Default number of ports per meeting
The number of enabled voiceconf and webconf licenses are displayed on the Licenses Summary page. See the "Updates to the Licenses Summary Page" section.
Added the FTP Archiving Method
The FTP archiving method is now available on the Configure Backup page of the Administration Center.
Restrictions for the FTP Archiving Method
•
The FTP archiving method does not use a secure connection to transfer files to the remote server. We recommend that you use the secure SSH/rsync archiving method instead of the FTP archiving method, if possible.
•
The FTP archiving method enables the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express server to transfer backup files and other critical files to the remote server; FTP clients cannot transfer files to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express server.
Requirements for the FTP Archiving Method
Make sure that the remote host login credentials provide sufficient permissions to create new directories in the directory specified in the "Pathname location of archive" field.
For example, if you enter "pub" in the "Pathname location of archive" field, then the following directories are automatically created when the archiving script runs:
•
pub/compressed_backup
•
pub/licenses
•
pub/custom
Added a Save and Run Archiving Button
The "Save and Run Archiving Button" is now available on the Configure Backup page of the Administration Center. When you click this button, the system saves the backup parameters, runs the archive process, and displays the View Backup Logs page of the Administration Center.
Added Ability to Export Meeting Information for Meetings That Have Ended
The "Include ended meetings" field is now available on the Meeting Information page of the Administration Center. If you select Yes for this field, then the system includes meetings that have already ended in the exported output.
Added Ability to Delete Dialing Groups
Dialing groups, each of which map a phone number to a specific meeting ID, may be deleted from the Dial Configuration page of the Administration Center. To delete a dialing group, check the checkbox next to the dialing group, and then click Delete Selected.
Updated the Import Logs Procedure
The following steps replace Step 5 and later steps in each of these sections of the "Importing Data into Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express" chapter:

Organization Unit Field Restriction
In Release 1.1.0 and Release 1.1.1, the "Organization unit" field on the Generate Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs) page of the Administration Center cannot contain commas.
Limitations and Restrictions for Release 1.1.2
Topics in this section include:
•
Display Name Field Cannot Contain Spaces
•
Organization Unit Field Restriction
Display Name Field Cannot Contain Spaces
In Release 1.1.2 only, the field description for the "Display name" field on the SIP Configuration page of the Administration Center must not include any spaces. Spaces in this field may cause dialed-out SIP calls to fail. You may, however, use underscore characters (_), for example, "Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Express."
Organization Unit Field Restriction
In Release 1.1.2, the "Organization unit" field on the Generate Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs) page of the Administration Center cannot contain commas. However, this field can contain commas in Release 1.1.2 when Patch 1.1.2.1001 is installed.
Limitations and Restrictions for Release 1.1.3
Topics in this section include:
•
Changed Language Support for French, German, and Australian English
•
System Default Language Must be English Before Upgrading
Changed Language Support for French, German, and Australian English
Release 1.1.3 does not support French (FR) (French as spoken in France), German, French (CA) (French as spoken in Canada), and English (AU) (English as spoken in Australia). If you require one or more of these languages and you need to upgrade your system, we suggest upgrading to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.4.
System Default Language Must be English Before Upgrading
If you are upgrading to Release 1.1.3 from an earlier release, your system default language must be English. If your system default language is not English, the upgrade will not proceed and the system displays an error message.
Limitations and Restrictions for Release 1.1.4
There are no limitations or restrictions for Release 1.1.4.

User Profiles and User Groups Cannot Be Imported from Cisco Conference Connection
The document incorrectly states that you can import user profiles or user group information from Cisco Conference Connection to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express. In fact, only meetings may be imported from Cisco Conference Connection to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express.
Requirements and Restrictions for Importing User Profiles
The document contains an inaccurate list of required header fields for importing user profiles. Use the following list instead:
•
To delete user profiles, the import file must contain the following fields:
–
prfnum
–
uid
•
To add user profiles, the import file must contain the following fields:
–
EncryptedProfilePWD or prfpwd
–
EncryptedUserPWD or upwd
–
prfnum
–
uid
The "prfpwd" and "upwd" fields are currently not described in the document. See the "Unencrypted Password Options for Importing User Profiles" section.
The document also contains an inaccurate list of restrictions for importing user profiles. Use the following list instead:
•
If the import file contains the "tzcode" header field, then all user profiles in the import file must have a valid entry for the field. For any invalid or blank "tzcode" values, the associated user profile is not imported, and an error is logged.
•
If the import file contains the "grpnme," "grpnum," or both header fields, then all user profiles in the import file must have a valid entry for each included field. Specifically:
–
Import user groups before you import user profiles.
–
If any "grpnme" and "grpnum" fields are left blank in the import file, then the associated user profiles are not imported, and an error is logged.
–
If any user groups that are specified in the "grpnme" and "grpnum" fields do not already exist in the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express database, then the associated user profiles are not imported, and an error is logged.
•
If the import file does not contain the "grpnme" and "grpnum" header fields, then the associated user profiles are not imported, and an error is logged.
In the table that describes the fields used to import user profiles, the descriptions for the "grpnme" and "grpnum" fields are incorrect. The restriction for both descriptions should be changed to say this:
Restriction: The import file must contain the "grpnme" and "grpnum" fields, otherwise the associated user profiles cannot be imported, and the import will fail. For details, see the "Restrictions for Importing User Profiles" section.
Documentation Changes
For documentation changes, see the following sections:
•
Supported Characters in User Names
Supported Characters in User Names
Removed the period (".") from the list of unsupported characters for the User ID field on the Add User Profile and Edit User Profile Administration Center pages. You can now have a period in your user ID.
SNMP Feature Support
Modified the "About SNMP" section so that it now says the following:
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express SNMP feature supports the non-standard Management Information Bases (MIBs) that are listed in the "Requirements for SNMP" section.
CautionCisco Unified MeetingPlace Express does not support SNMP without the Cisco non-standard MIBs loaded onto your SNMP monitoring package.
Once the non-standard MIBs are in place, the SNMP feature supports all standard MIB II queries and a set of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express MIB traps. The MIB II queries include information such as the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express server name, location, and contact name, plus various statistics regarding the network interface.
Moved the list of non-standard MIBs into a new section called "Requirements for SNMP."

SMTP Server Configuration
Added the following note to the "Configuring SMTP Servers" section:
Note
The values you enter while installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express operating system are not carried over to the Administration Center. Therefore, you need to re-enter the value for the primary SMTP server on the SMTP Server Configuration page.
About Certificates
To use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to provide secure web communications to and from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express, you must obtain two certificates from a trusted certificate authority (CA):
•
One for the end-user web interface and the Administration Center
•
One for web conferencing
Each certificate uses the digital signature of a trusted certificate authority (CA) to confirm that a cryptographic key belongs to a specific organization at a specific location. Each certificate also includes a validity period, after which the certificate expires.
Note
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express does not support self-signed certificates.
Additional Steps for Adding the SIP Trunk and Route Pattern in Cisco Unified CallManager Release 5.x
The following steps should be inserted between Step 4 and Step 5 of the "Adding the SIP Trunk and Route Pattern in Cisco Unified CallManager Release 5.x" section in the Configuration and Maintenance Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1.
Step 1
Configure the nonsecure SIP trunk profile by completing the following actions:

Prerequisites for Importing Cisco Conference Connection Meetings
The following information was added to the "Importing Cisco Conference Connection Meetings" section:
Note
When meetings are imported from Cisco Conference Connection into Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express, the user who performs the import process automatically becomes the scheduler for those meetings.
Before You Begin
•
Make sure that the number of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express voice licenses installed on your system is equal to or greater than the number of voice licenses in the Cisco Conference Connection system from which you are importing meetings.
•
If you want the imported meetings to have web-conferencing capabilities, then purchase and install additional web licenses (the same amount as the number of voice licenses installed on your system).
•
If you do not want the imported meetings to have web-conferencing capabilities, then make sure that the user profile of the person who is importing the meetings has the "Host web meetings with" field set to "Participant list only (no licenses required)."
•
Export the meeting information from Cisco Conference Connection. See the "Upgrading Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express" chapter of the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express.
Unencrypted Password Options for Importing User Profiles
When importing user profiles, the import file includes user passwords and profile passwords. The document currently describes the "EncryptedUserPWD" and "EncryptedProfilePWD" fields, which are used to enter passwords that were previously encrypted by Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express.
If, however, you want to enter unencrypted passwords, then use the "upwd" and "prfpwd" fields instead (See Table 14).
Table 14 Password Fields for Importing User Profiles
Header Field Description ValueEncryptedProfilePWD
(prfpwd)
Encrypted profile password. See the description and values of the equivalent "Profile password" user profile field.
If you instead want to import an unencrypted profile password, then modify the import file as follows:
1.
Leave the EncryptedProfilePWD field blank for the user.
2.
Add the "prfpwd" header field for the unencrypted profile password.
Restrictions:
•
If the user is authenticated by an external directory, then you cannot modify this field.
•
This field cannot be modified in the preconfigured guest user profile.
EncryptedProfilePWD:
password previously encrypted by Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Expressprfpwd:
5 to 17 numeric characters (0 - 9)EncryptedUserPWD
(upwd)
Encrypted user password. See the description and values of the equivalent "User password" user profile field.
If you instead want to import an unencrypted user password, then modify the import file as follows:
1.
Leave the EncryptedUserPWD field blank for the user.
2.
Add the "upwd" header field for the unencrypted password.
Restrictions:
•
Unicode is not supported.
•
If the user is authenticated by an external directory, then you cannot modify this field.
EncryptedUserPWD:
password previously encrypted by Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Expressupwd:
5 to 17 alphanumeric characters
H.323 Configuration Modifications Reinitialize H.323 Signaling
When you modify the parameters on the H.323 Configuration page of the Administration Center, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express reinitializes H.323 signaling with the call-control device, for example, Cisco Unified CallManager. During the reinitialization process, which can take up to two minutes, calls and voice meetings may be affected.
H.323 ID Field Restriction
The following restriction was added to the field description for the "H.323 ID" field on the H.323 Configuration page of the Administration Center:
Restriction: Do not leave this field blank.
Private Key File Field Descriptions
The following text was added to the field descriptions for the "Private key file" fields on the Enable SSL for the End-User Interface, Administration Center, and Web Conferencing page of the Administration Center:
Note that this field is typically left blank. Enter a value only if you use your own tool to generate the key and CSR, instead of using the Generate CSR page in the Administration Center.
To locate the key file, refer to the documentation for the tool that you use to generate the key file.
Special Privileges for Delegates
The following content was added to the "About Delegates" section:
Delegates may also join any meeting that their assigned end users schedule, or that the delegates schedule on behalf of their assigned end users. Note the following information for password-protected meetings:
–
To join a password-protected meeting from the phone, everyone (including the meeting owner, the delegate, the system administrator, profiled users, and guest users) must enter the meeting password.
–
To join a password-protected meeting from the end-user web interface, only profiled users and guest users must enter the meeting password. The meeting owner, the delegate, and the system administrator are NOT required to enter the meeting password.
CautionThis behavior may present a security risk: the delegate and system administrator may attend password-protected meetings, even when they do not know the password and are not invited to the meeting.
Restrictions for Meeting Configuration Page Fields
On the Meeting Configuration Page of the Administration Center, the following restriction was added to the descriptions for these fields:
•
Days until meeting recordings purged
•
Days until meeting statistics purged
Restriction: Changes to this field apply only to meetings that are scheduled after the field is changed. For each meeting, the system applies the field value that was configured at the time the meeting was scheduled.
Format of Click-to-Attend URLs in Meeting Notifications
Added the following note to the "Enabling SSL" section:
Note
Whether or not SSL is enabled, e-mail notifications use click-to-attend URLs that begin with "http" instead of "https." When SSL is enabled, the system automatically redirects users to an "https" URL.
Exceptions to Archiving
Added the following note in the "About Archiving the Database Backup Files and Other External Files" section:
Note
Backup files and archives do not include backup configuration settings, SNMP configuration settings, SMTP configuration settings, and the custom logo or graphic.
User Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express
Documentation updates are described in the following sections:
Documentation Omissions
The content in the following sections was omitted from the User Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1:
•
Determining the Language in which Prompts are Played
•
Joining Meetings and No System Resources Available
•
Joining Meetings and Phone Profile Password
•
Space Used for Meeting Recordings
Determining the Language in which Prompts are Played
Added the following:
Any prompt that is played to all participants in a meeting (such as "At the request of a meeting participant, this meeting is being recorded") is played in the meeting language (which is set by the user who scheduled the meeting).
Any prompt that is played to only a single user (such as "Muted" that you -- and only you -- hear when you mute yourself) is played in that user's default language.
The language that guest users hear is always the default system language. Guest users cannot change the language that they hear.
Joining Meetings and No System Resources Available
Added the following note to the section about joining meetings:
Note
If you try to join a web meeting and get an error message similar to "No system resources available for operation," this is because your system does not have enough licenses available. Contact your system administrator to have more web conferencing licenses added to your system or wait until some licenses become available (such as when other end users have finished their web meetings).
Joining Meetings and Phone Profile Password
Added the following note to the section about joining meetings, to avoid confusion about which password to enter at which times:
Note
Enter the password associated with your phone profile number, not the meeting password.
Space Used for Meeting Recordings
Added the following information to the section about recording meetings:
The audio meeting recordings typically require 16Kbps of disk space.
Troubleshooting Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express
Documentation updates are described in the following sections:
Documentation Omissions
The content in the following sections was omitted from the Troubleshooting Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1:
•

Troubleshooting a Licensing Installation Error
Added the following section:
Problem
I'm trying to install a license and get an error that says "Sorry. Cannot enter the license at this time." Why?
Solution
The hostname that you entered during the product installation contains more than 32 characters. Use the net command to change the hostname of the system so that it contains 32 characters or less. See the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 1.1 for information about the net command.
Troubleshooting a Problem with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phone
Added the following section:
Problem
I am using Cisco Unified CallManager Release 5.x and whenever I try to subscribe to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service for the Cisco Unified IP Phone with the correct username and PIN, the login always fails. The phone screen shows an Authentication fails message. Why?
Solution
This is a known bug. The workaround is to go into the Cisco Unified CallManager administration area, navigate to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express service, make no changes, and click Update Subscriptions.
Note
This problem does not occur with Cisco Unified CallManager Release 4.x and earlier.

Definitions of Service Request Severity
To ensure that all service requests are reported in a standard format, Cisco has established severity definitions.
Severity 1 (S1)—An existing network is down, or there is a critical impact to your business operations. You and Cisco will commit all necessary resources around the clock to resolve the situation.
Severity 2 (S2)—Operation of an existing network is severely degraded, or significant aspects of your business operations are negatively affected by inadequate performance of Cisco products. You and Cisco will commit full-time resources during normal business hours to resolve the situation.
Severity 3 (S3)—Operational performance of the network is impaired, while most business operations remain functional. You and Cisco will commit resources during normal business hours to restore service to satisfactory levels.
Severity 4 (S4)—You require information or assistance with Cisco product capabilities, installation, or configuration. There is little or no effect on your business operations.
