This module explains how to troubleshoot problems that can occur with your directory service settings.

Invalid AXL URL
Problem
Your AXL URL is incorrect.
Solution
Configure a working AXL URL.
Procedure
Step 1
Sign in to the CLI.
Check the following log: /var/mp/axlds/MPDS.log
The log indicates there is an invalid AXL URL.
Example
2007-12-04 11:01:19,205 [INFO ,AxlWrapper 270] Invalid AXL URL. SOAP connection is refused
to the AXL URL. Provide valid AXL URL from Administartion web page.
Step 2
Sign in to the Administration Center.
Step 3
Select User Configuration > Directory Service > Directory Service Configuration.
Step 4
In the AXL URL field, enter a working URL in following format:
https://<CUCMHostname>:8443/axl
Step 5
Select Save.
Invalid Username or Password
Problem
Your AXL username or password is incorrect.
Solution
Configure working AXL username and password.
Procedure
Step 1
Sign in to the CLI.
Check the following log: /var/mp/axlds/MPDS.log
The log indicates the following:
AXL Username or AXL password is not correct. Provide valid CCM AXL credentials from
Administration webpage.
Step 2
Sign in to the Administration Center.
Step 3
In the AXL Username and AXL password fields, enter valid CCM AXL credentials from the Administration Center page.
Step 4
Select Save.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager is Not Responding
Problem
Cisco Unified Communications Manager is not responding.
Solution
Verify that Cisco Unified Communications Manager is up, and the AXL web service is running.
Procedure
Step 1
Sign in to the CLI.
Check the following log: /var/mp/axlds/MPDS.log
The log indicates the following:
Connection timedout. CUCM is not responding.
Step 2
Enter the AXL URL that is configured in the Directory Service Configuration page in the browser. Enter the AXL username and password.
If the URL and login credentials are valid, the Cisco Call Manager: AXL Web Service page appears.
