Introduction

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1 offers support for Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook 2010, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

Third-Party Software Policy

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace is extensively tested in its supported hardware and software environment. Diverging from the supported hardware and software environment by adding third-party components may negatively impact Cisco Unified MeetingPlace functionality and may impose limitations to your Cisco support.

Cisco qualifies a fixed set of required third-party software, including remote-access and antivirus. This set is documented in the System Requirements document for each release. Any third-party components that are not explicitly listed in the System Requirements documentation are not supported.

Installation and Upgrade

This release of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace supports upgrading from Release 6.0 MR5 to Release 6.1. It also supports upgrades between 6.1 releases, such as Release 6.1.0.6 to Release 6.1.1.4 (MR1).

Release 6.1.1.4 (MR1) supports the Cisco MCS 7835-I3-RC1 and the MCS 7845-I3-RC1 platforms for the web server. Microsoft Windows 7

Microsoft Windows 7 32-Bit and 64-Bit is supported in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1.

Microsoft Outlook Integration

•Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions are supported in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1.

•Ability to delete previously scheduled meetings: Users can delete one previously scheduled meeting at a time from their Microsoft Outlook calendars. Users cannot choose to delete multiple meetings at a time.

•Ability to permanently delete a meeting: Users are restricted from using the Delete Permanently feature when deleting previously scheduled Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meetings from Microsoft Outlook.

•Recurring appointments: Users can use drag-and-drop to update recurring appointments with Microsoft Outlook 2010, 2007, and 2003.

Known Behavior with Mixed Versions of Microsoft Outlook

In order to avoid inconsistent UI behavior when having the default MeetingPlace for Outlook option enabled for the Make the MeetingPlace meeting schedule form the default scheduling form for all meetings setting in Outlook 2003:

•It is recommended that users who access Microsoft Outlook on multiple PCs use only Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010.

•It is not recommended that users who access Microsoft Outlook on multiple PCs use Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2010, or 2003 and 2007.

The inconsistent UI behavior is a known behavior because the Make the MeetingPlace meeting schedule form the default scheduling form for all meetings setting, which is no longer utilized by Meeting Place for Outlook in Outlook 2007/2010, is saved on the Microsoft Exchange Server.

Windows Integrated Authentication (WIA)

•Windows Integrated Authentication (WIA) support, with Microsoft Windows Active Directory credentials, is included for Microsoft Outlook 2010, 2007, and 2003.

Note•The Delegate feature is not supported when you enable WIA based on Windows Active Directory credentials.

•The following configuration requirements apply when using WIA and delegation in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Outlook:

–The delegator must be a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace profiled user.

–The delegate's Cisco Unified MeetingPlace profile must have attendant-level or higher privileges.

Features that Have Changed from Release 6.0 MR5 to Release 6.1

User Interface Changes

Microsoft Outlook 2007 Plug-in

In the new Outlook 2007 plugin, a new toolbar button called "Schedule a MeetingPlace Meeting" has been added. Users can click the down arrow on this button to schedule a MeetingPlace meeting and to open the Settings dialog.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 Plug-in

In the new Outlook 2010 plugin, a new ribbon bar button called "Cisco MeetingPlace" is available. Users can click the down arrow on this button to schedule a MeetingPlace meeting and to open the Settings dialog.

Attachments in Outlook 2007 and 2010 Meeting Email Invitations

In Outlook 2007 or 2010 when you schedule a MeetingPlace meeting and include an attachment, the attachment appears before the MeetingPlace invitation information in the email for anyone who receives the meeting invitation.

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Outlook

RTF formatting is not supported with the new Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010 Plug-ins.

Using Bug Toolkit

Known problems (defects) are graded according to severity level. These release notes contain descriptions of the following:
