Desk Phone Video
Desk phone video gives Cisco Jabber for Windows users the ability to see video from desk phone devices on their computers.
Note that you must install Cisco Medianet on the computer along with Cisco Jabber for Windows to enable desk phone video capabilities. You can find the installer for Cisco Medianet in the Cisco Jabber for Windows administration package.

Extend and Connect
Cisco Jabber for Windows uses Cisco Unified Communications Manager extend and connect capabilities to control calls on devices such as public switched telephone network (PSTN) phone and private branch exchange (PBX) devices.

Outlook Contact Search
Users can search for, add, and communicate with local contacts from Microsoft Outlook.
Integrated Session Windows
Integrated session windows improve the user experience with Cisco Jabber for Windows by including audio, video, and instant messages in the same window. Integrated session windows give users a person-centric view that makes it easier to manage communication with others.
User Experience Enhancements
In addition to integrated session windows, several enhancements have been made to user experience in this release. To highlight some of the main user experience enhancements, Cisco Jabber for Windows
users can now do the following:
- More easily transfer calls, create conferences, and merge calls.
- Rename groups in their contact lists.
- Send instant messages, calls, or email from the contact profiles.
- Change font styles for instant messages.
- Copy and paste from instant messages with right clicks.
- Delete custom availability states.
- Block availability and instant messages for individual users or domains.
- Select their active device when multiple Cisco Jabber clients are registered to the same CSF device.
Users can view the connection status for different Cisco Jabber for Windows services. For example, users can view the status for their connections to presence servers, desk phone devices, and voicemail services.
Calendar Integration with Outlook, Notes, and Google
Users can view and interact with calendar events from Microsoft Outlook, IBM Lotus Notes, and Google. To add calendars, users simply open the Options window and select the application.

Configuration for the Options Window
Administrators can specify default settings for the Options window as part of the Cisco Jabber for Windows configuration. These settings include whether Cisco Jabber for Windows starts when the operating system starts, if calls always start with audio or video, and more.

Authentication with Identity Providers for Cisco WebEx Meeting Center
As of this release, Cisco Jabber for Windows can redirect authentication from Cisco WebEx Meeting Center to identity providers. This capability enables you to set up an identity provider to validate user credentials for Cisco WebEx Meeting Center instead of storing credentials in the Cisco WebEx cloud.

Enhancements to Custom Embedded Tabs
This version of Cisco Jabber for Windows
includes the following improvements to custom embedded tabs:
- Tokens that resolve to user IDs. You can use the tokens queries or URLs.

Instant Message Encryption
You can specify policies in cloud-based deployments to use Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption of instant messages between clients.

High Availability for Instant Messaging and Presence in On-Premises Deployments
As of this release, Cisco Jabber for Windows
supports high availability with the following servers:
- Cisco Unified Presence version 8.5 and higher
- Cisco Unified Communications IM and Presence version 9.0 and higher
