Configuring Cisco Unified Presence Settings
This section describes how to configure Cisco Unified Presence settings.
Procedure
Step 1 Choose Cisco Unified Presence > Settings.
The Cisco Unified Presence Settings window displays.
Step 2 Configure the Cisco Unified Presence settings, as shown in Table 8-1.
Step 3 To save your settings, click the Save icon that displays in the tool bar in the upper, left corner of the window (or click the Save buttonthat displays at the bottom of the window).

Enable Instant Messaging check box
Check this check box to enable instant messaging on this Cisco Unified Presence cluster. This setting affects the Cisco IP Phone Messenger service, the SIP Proxy, and Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.
Default setting: Enabled
Enable Publish to Cisco Unified Communications Manager check box
Note This field only displays when you connect to Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.0 or higher.
Check this check box to enable PUBLISH to the associated Cisco Unified Communications Manager. This setting affects the IP Phone Messenger service, the SIP Proxy, and Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.
Note This field only displays when you connect to Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.0 or higher.
From the drop-down list, choose the appropriate SIP PUBLISH trunk to allow Cisco Unified Presence to monitor phone status from Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
Note You must check the Enable Publish to Cisco Unified Communications Manager check box to enable this parameter.
Note This parameter changes the SIP Publish Trunk on Cisco Unified Communications Manager. In addition, if you change the SIP Publish Trunk parameter on Cisco Unified Communications Manager, this also changes this setting because they are connected.
