Use these release notes with the Cisco Unified IP Phones 7905 and 7912G for firmware release 8.0(3) running on Cisco Unified CallManager versions 5.0, 4.2, 4.1, 4.0, and 3.3 (SCCP).

New and Changed Information
Cisco Unified IP Phone firmware release 8.0(3) supports several releases of Cisco Unified CallManager, including thes releases—versions 4.2 and 5.0. For a complete list of new and changed phone features introduced in these Cisco Unified CallManager versions, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco Unified CallManager 4.2 and the Release Notes for Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0. See the "Related Documentation" section for help locating these documents.

Installation Notes
Before using the Cisco Unified IP Phones 7905G and 7912G with Cisco Unified CallManager release 3.3.2 or later, you must install the latest firmware on all Cisco Unified CallManager servers in the cluster. The firmware image names are:

For the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905G: CP7905080003SCCP070409A.sbin
•
For the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G: CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin
Note
Release 8.0(3) supports both versions of the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G (CP-7912G and CP-7912G-A).
To install the firmware, follow these steps:

Go to the following URL:

Double-click one of the following hyperlinks, and follow the prompts to download the firmware:

Step 3
Go back to the URL shown in Step 1, double-click one of the following hyperlinks, and follow the prompts to download the Readme file, which contains installation instructions for the corresponding firmware:

Using Bug Toolkit
Known problems (bugs) are graded according to severity level. These release notes contain descriptions of:

To use the Software Bug Toolkit, follow these steps:

Step 1
To access the Bug Toolkit, go to http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/launch_bugtool.pl.
Step 2
Log on with your Cisco.com user ID and password.
Step 3
Click the Launch Bug Toolkit hyperlink.
Step 4
To look for information about a specific problem, enter the bug ID number in the "Enter known bug ID" field and click Search.

Table 1 lists Severity 1, 2 and 3 defects that are open for Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905G and 7921G using firmware release 8.0(3).
