Cisco Cius 4G

Introduction

Cisco Cius 4G is a High Speed Packet Access Evolved (HSPA+) 4G wireless version of the Cisco Cius mobile collaboration device.

Cisco Cius 4G uses Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) technology, allowing users to seamlessly collaborate when using the Cisco Cius in areas not covered by their corporate Wi-Fi.

SIM Card Activation

SIM cards and data plans are factory-installed and configured but must be activated by the user. Cisco is not responsible for SIM card activation.

Consult your service provider or activation partner to activate your SIM card and data plan.

Note	You must provide activation information regarding the IMEI and the ICCID (SIM card ID) when activating your account. This information can be found on your sales order.

Prepaid SIM cards

Prepaid SIM cards must be obtained from your service provider. Cisco is not responsible for SIM card activation.

Postpaid SIM cards

Postpaid SIM cards can be obtained from your service provider, an activation partner, or your IT department. Cisco is not responsible for SIM card activation.

You are not limited to using the SIM card included with your Cisco Cius. You can also use an existing or new SIM card which can be added to your existing service provider account.

Viewing Data Usage

You can view both pre and post-paid real-time AT&T account data usage using the pre-installed AT&T Communication Manager desktop widget, or by logging into your AT&T account online.

Figure 1 provides an example of the widget displaying real-time data usage for a prepaid account.

Figure 2 provides an example of the widget displaying real-time data usage for a postpaid account.

Adding Cisco Cius 4G Devices

You can add a Cisco Cius device individually to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager database by using Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration. To add the Cisco Cius 4G device, see Preparing to Install Cisco Cius on Your Network.

VPN Transitioning

Cisco Cius 4G uses VPN to connect to your enterprise network and Cisco Unified Communications Manager. When transitioning from a 4G to Wi-Fi network during a call over VPN, the 4G connection is maintained until the call is ended.

When transitioning from a Wi-Fi network, the call is dropped.
