Trusted Points

When setting up LDAP over Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for Cisco VNMC user authentication, you need to create a trusted point for each LDAP server. The certificate in the trust point can be any one of the following:

• The certificate of the certificate authority (CA) that issued the LDAP server certificate.
• If the certificate authorities (CAs) are organized in a hierarchy, the certificate of any of the CAs in the hierarchy.
• The certificate of the LDAP server.

Creating a Trusted Point

Procedure

Step 1	In the Navigation pane, click the Administration tab.
Step 2	In the Navigation pane, click the Access Control subtab.
Step 3	In the Navigation pane, click the Trusted Point node.
Step 4	In the Work pane, click the Create Trusted Point link.
Step 5	In the Create Trusted Point dialog box, complete the following fields: Name Description Name field The name of the trusted point. This name can be between 1 and 32 identifier characters. You can use alphanumeric characters including hyphen, underscore, dot, and colon. You cannot change this name after it is saved. Note    You cannot change this name after the object has been created. Certificate Chain field The certificate information for this trusted point. This description can be between 1 and 256 identifier characters. You can use alphanumeric characters including hyphens, underscore, dot, and colon. You cannot change this description after it is saved.
Step 6	Click OK.

Editing a Trusted Point

Procedure

Step 1	In the Navigation pane, click the Administration tab.
Step 2	In the Navigation pane, click the Access Control subtab.
Step 3	In the Navigation pane, click the Trusted Point node.
Step 4	In the Work pane, click the Trusted Point_name you want to edit.
Step 5	Click the Edit link.
Step 6	In the Edit dialog box, modify the certificate chain as appropriate.
Step 7	Click OK.

Deleting a Trusted Point

Procedure

Step 1	In the Navigation pane, click the Administration tab.
Step 2	In the Navigation pane, click the Access Control subtab.
Step 3	In the Navigation pane, click the Trusted Point node.
Step 4	In the Work pane, click the trusted point you want to delete.
Step 5	Click the Delete link.
Step 6	In the Confirm dialog box, click OK.
