Caution
The shelf segments are unstable during assembly. Use caution, and support all structures as required.
Caution
Some system components have metal and plastic edges with hard angles. These edges are exposed until you complete system assembly. Use caution when you move around the system during assembly to avoid contact with any exposed system edges.
 |
Warning Only trained and qualified personnel should be allowed to install, replace, or service this equipment.
|
Caution
In order to prevent scratching the Display shelves, you should avoid putting any tools on the shelf surfaces.
Note
The directions left and right refer to the assembly as you face the Plasma displays.
Note
The directions left and right refer to the assembly as you face the Plasma displays.
Note
The "Leveling the Displays and Display Shelves" section illustrates the process of leveling the Plasma displays. You may want to review all of Chapter 3 before beginning the leveling process.
Caution
Some system components have metal and plastic edges with hard angles. These edges are exposed until you complete system assembly. Use caution when you move around the system during assembly to avoid contact with any exposed system edges.
 |
Warning The displays are heavy and may cause injury or damage if care is not taken to support them properly while mounting. Use caution and additional assistance as needed.
|
Step 1
Remove the bracket from the rear of the display and attach the spool studs and washers.
Caution
Tighten these studs securely to the display. Failure to securely tighten the studs can cause the stud to unscrew from the display, and cause the display to detach from the frame when you level the displays vertically.
Note
Leave the handles on the rear of the display for ease of installation.

Step 2
Attach the spools to the spool studs.
Figure 5-2 Attaching the Spools to the Display
Step 3
Mount the displays onto the display stands.
Make sure that the power cord is behind the monitor mounting plate during installation and that the spools seat correctly in the slots on the display stands.
 |
Warning Do not place your hands between the display and the monitor mounting plate when mounting the display to the display stand.
|
Tip
To make sure that the power cord stays behind the monitor mounting plate, tape the power cord to the rear of the display prior to installation and remove the tape after installation.
Tip
Label the power cables on the displays after you install them. The labels are provided in the accessory kit.

Note
There are two attachment methods to join the tables: Cam locks and cam lock rods, or draw bolts. Figure 5-5 shows the cam lock rods; if your installation comes with draw bolts, use those.
Step 6
Attach the left Display shelf.

Note
Refer to Figure 5-5 to see the hardware used to attach the right Display shelf to the center Display shelf.
Step 9
Continue top "Leveling the Displays and Display Shelves" section to level the displays and display shelves.
Leveling the Displays and Display Shelves
The three displays act as windows allowing a three-way view into the remote Cisco TelePresence conference room. The display shelf in front of each plasma display acts as a visual bridge between the local and remote conference rooms. In order to provide the experience of one conference table the display shelf must appear seamlessly integrated with the remote conference table.
To level the plasma displays, complete the following procedure.
Step 1
Use the four leveling feet on each display structure to level the display shelves. Leveling the Display shelves insures the Display structures are level.
To level the shelves, adjust the feet on the display assembly. Use a 5 mm hex key to adjust these feet.

Step 2
Level the plasma displays horizontally and vertically.
Note
Level the center display first, then level the left and right displays.
•
To level the displays horizontally, loosen the screw that secures the monitor mounting plate to the display assembly, then adjust the levelers on the monitor plate. See Figure 5-11 for the location of these levelers.
•
To level the display vertically, adjust the spools on the rear of the display.
Leveling the Display shelves and the Plasma displays ensures that images displayed from the remote conference room(s) match the local conference room configuration.

Figure 5-12 Leveling the Plasma displays Horizontally and Vertically Using a Spirit Level
Caution
Do not place a spirit level against the Plasma display screen. Place the level against the Plasma display frame.
Step 3
Use the levelers on the monitor mounting plate to raise or lower the plasma displays and make sure all lines of resolution can be seen when sitting at the conference table.
Figure 5-13 Making Sure That No Lines of Resolution Are Blocked By the Display Shelves
Step 4
Align the edges of Plasma displays
The gap between Plasma displays should be uniformly even from the top edge of the Plasma display to the bottom edge. You should try to make the gap as small as possible.
Figure 5-14 Align the edges of Plasma displays
Step 5
Align the seams of the Display shelves with the seams between Plasma displays.
You may need to adjust the Plasma displays left to right so the seam created between the edges of two Plasma displays are aligned to the corresponding Display shelf seam.
Caution
While moving the Plasma display to the left or right you need to make sure the Plasma display Leveling feet remain firmly seated on top of the Display shelf supports.

Step 6
Apply the Black Buffer strips to the rear of the display.
