About This Guide
This section discusses the intended audience, scope, and organization of the
Catalyst 1900 Series Installation and Configuration Guide and defines the conventions used to convey instructions and information.Cisco documentation and additional literature are available in a CD-ROM package, which ships with your product. The Documentation CD-ROM, a member of the Cisco Connection Family, is updated monthly. Therefore, it might be more current than printed documentation. Audience and Scope
This guide is for the trained and qualified networking professional installing and maintaining the Catalyst 1900 series Ethernet switches, also referred to as the Catalyst 1900 switches. We assume that readers of this manual are familiar with the terminology and concepts of Ethernet and local area networking.
This guide describes the functional and physical features of the Catalyst 1900 switches and provides installation procedures, web-based and menu-based standard edition software configuration and management information, troubleshooting information, technical specifications, and cable and connector guidelines and specifications.
