Specifying NAT Settings

Specifying NAT Settings

From the Admin tab, click the NAT Settings option to display the NAT Settings page. On this page, you can specify the correct address for devices to use when they try to download images or report errors.

If AUS is behind a NAT boundary, the address that the device uses to contact AUS is most likely different from the actual IP address. Therefore, you must specify the IP address that devices on the public side of the NAT boundary must use to access AUS. For example, a typical setup could look like the following:

AUS has a public address 209.165.201.1 that corresponds to an internal AUS address of 192.168.0.1

Since all the devices connect to the public address, you must configure the IP address in the NAT Settings page to 209.165.201.1. If no NAT boundary is involved, you can leave the default, which is the IP address of the local machine.

This procedure describes how to specify settings for an AUS behind a NAT firewall.

Step 1 Select Admin > NAT Settings. The NAT Settings page appears.

Step 2 Enter information into the fields provided (Table 7-1).

Step 3 Click Update to apply your changes and exit the page.
