Resolved Caveats
Table 2 lists issues that were resolved in Cisco PAM Release 1.3.1. Click the link to view additional descriptions, status or workaround information for each issue.
Table 2 Resolved Caveats for Cisco Physical Access Control Release 1.3.1
Identifier Headline and Bug ToolkitResolves an issue in the Cisco Access Control Gateway module that prevented configuration changes from being saved. This issue affected new modules running firmware release 1.0.0 through 1.3.0, or modules that were been reset to the factory defaults (hard reset).
Note
See also the Feature Note for more information.
Resolves various issues including database memory leaks when using the Profile module and Global I/O device filter performance.
Serviceability enhancements for visibility to system data, DB optimization for event storage:
•
Added additional output to the showtech command for use in debugging. The additional data includes CPU usage, I/O usage, and MySQL outputs.
•
Allow MySQL to create a tablespace file per table. This allows the tablespace for events to be reduced when events are pruned.
Fine tuning Database settings to improve performance:
•
Hibernate connections are increased from 600 to 1200.
•
The hibernate inactivity timer is reduced from 90 minutes to 15 minutes.
•
The client connection limit is lowered from 100 to 20.
Resolves an issue that could cause the Cisco PAM client to hang during large system backups.
Resolves an issue that could cause an SFTP session to remain open with some Windows SFTP servers after remote copy of a backup file.
Updates the copyright date on the splash and start screens to 2011 (the year of the 1.3.0 release).
Resolves an out-of-memory condition on CPAM in the periodic processing of credential distribution to the Gateways.
Resolved an issue that caused changes to the schedule configuration to fail.
Provides a workaround for an issue that caused photos to be removed when personnel records were updated from an Active Directory database using the EDI module. This occurs if an Active Directory field is not mapped to the Cisco PAM photo field.
Workarounds:
Option 1: Add the personnel photos to the Active Directory entries, and then update the AD EDI project to map the AD photo field to the Cisco PAM personnel photo field.
Option 2: Enable the following system setting:
1.
Launch the Cisco PAM desktop application.
2.
Select System Configuration from the Admin menu.
3.
Click the Cisco Settings tab.
4.
Select the check box for EDI:Retain photo on CPAM when no photo on personnel update
Note
This option is deselected by default.
5.
To activate the change, log out and log back in to the Cisco PAM application.
Resolved a Gateway module addressing issue that occurred after upgrading from Release 1.2.0 to 1.3.0 and caused a loss of communication between the Gateway modules and the Cisco PAM appliance.
Implements a diagnostic change that allows Cisco PAM to dump a copy of the memory heap if an out-of-memory condition occurs on the server.
