About This Guide
This section discusses the intended audience, scope, and organization of the Cisco 1751 Router Hardware Installation Guide and defines the conventions used to convey instructions and information.

Audience and Scope
This guide is for users who have some experience installing and maintaining networking hardware. We assume that Cisco 1751 router users are familiar with the terminology and concepts of local Ethernet and wide-area networking.
This guide describes the functional and physical features of the Cisco 1751 router and provides installation procedures, troubleshooting information, technical specifications, and cable and connector guidelines and specifications.
Organization
This guide is organized as follows:

"Cisco 1751 Router Overview," describes the router features, front-panel LEDs, rear-panel LEDs, and connectors.

"Installation," describes how to install the router by connecting cables, power, and install WAN interface cards (WICs) and voice interface cards (VICs).
•
"Troubleshooting," describes some problems that you might have with the router and how to solve these problems.
•
"Technical Specifications," lists the physical characteristics, environmental requirements, and power specifications for the router.
•
"Cabling Specifications," lists the physical characteristics of the cables and connectors used with the router.
•
"Installing and Upgrading Memory and Packet Voice Data Modules," describes how to install or upgrade memory or data modules in your router.
•
"," describes how to install the Virtual Private Network (VPN) module in the router.
