The Cisco Transport Manager Equipment Module Configuration Guide contains information about configuring and using the Cisco Transport Manager Equipment Module with Cisco Provisioning Center Release 4.0. This Equipment Module is used by the Optical Service Application to provision managed SONET and PDH circuit services.

Audience

This document is intended for three distinct groups of users:

•Experienced Network Operators

•System Administrators

•Network Architects/Infrastructure Engineers

The CPC User's Guide is a prerequisite to this guide.

Users of this documentation should have an excellent working knowledge of Cisco Provisioning Center before attempting to use this Equipment Module for provisioning.

Conventions

Various formatting conventions are used in this guide to make it easier for you to recognize and use specific types of information. Table 3 lists these conventions.

Table 3 Document Conventions

Convention	Description	Example
Bold Text	Within a procedure, bold text indicates specific folder names or buttons in the GUI.	Click the Modify button on the Action Bar.
Italicized Text	Within a procedure, italicized text indicates text that should be replaced with the name of the object or element that is specific to your network configuration.	Navigate to network > Cisco Transport Manager Equipment Module > Profiles > Service Element Profile.
Courier Text	Commands formatted as courier indicate shell commands that must entered exactly as shown.	export CCP_ACTIVATION_TIMEOUT=180
Square Brackets	Within a command, optional parameters are shown in square brackets.	SYnpt [-s[CDRST] | -h[R] | -r[R]]

Installation

To install Cisco Provisioning Center, you must install CPC Resource Models, Service Applications and Equipment Modules. For more information about installing Cisco Provisioning Center, refer to the CPC Installation and Administration Guide.
