From the Home window of Cisco IP Solution Center (ISC), you receive upon logging in, click the Service Inventory tab or area in the data pane of the window, and you receive a window as shown in Figure 6-1, "Service Inventory Selections."

Click on Deployment Flow Manager and you proceed directly to create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flow, as shown in the Deployment Flow Manager.

Click on Device Console and you proceed directly to download commands and configlets to devices and view device configuration, as shown in Device Console.

Deployment Flow Manager

Deployment flows are typically used for provisioning end-to-end services. Services may be combined in several ways and deployed as though they were a single service.

The types of services that may be embedded into a Deployment Flow include:

•MPLS

•IPsec

•L2VPN

•QoS

•Firewall

This section describes how you can create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flows and includes the following:

•Accessing the Deployment Flow Manager Window

•Deployment Flow - Creating, Executing, and Modifying

•Deleting Deployment Flows

Accessing the Deployment Flow Manager Window

The Deployment Flow Manager feature is used to create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flows.

To access the Deployment Flow Manager window, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager to access the Deployment Flows window shown in Figure 6-2.

From the Deployment Flows window, you can create, modify, and manage deployment flows using the following buttons:

Create Click to create a new deployment flow. Always enabled.

Modify Click to modify a selected deployment flow (select by clicking the corresponding box). Enabled only if one deployment flow is selected and the flow has not been started (NOT_STARTED).

Delete Click to delete selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are not running (RUNNING).

Run Click to run selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are not started (NOT_STARTED).

Resume Click to resume selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are suspended (SUSPENDED).

Monitor Click to monitor a selected deployment flow (select by clicking the corresponding box). Enabled only if one deployment flow is selected. The flow can be in any state.

The Deployment Flows window displays the State of the flow. The Deployment Flow Manager supports the following flow states:

•NOT_STARTED The process instance has been created, but has not started yet

•RUNNING The process instance is executing

•SUSPENDED Deployment of the process instance is temporarily suspended

•COMPLETED Deployment of the process instance is completed

•COMPLETED_WITH_ERRORS Deployment of the process instance completed, but with errors for steps for which the Ignore Completion Status checkbox was checked.

Note You can filter the deployment flows that appear by choosing from the Show Deployment Flows with drop-down menu and entering information in the matching field and clicking Find.

Deployment Flow - Creating, Executing, and Modifying

Deploying a flow involves two basic tasks: defining the steps in the flow, and executing the steps once they have been specified.

To create a deployment flow, do the following. Once you have completed the creation, you can modify, delete, run, resume, and monitor.

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager.

Step 2 Click the Create button.

The Create a Deployment Flow - Flow Properties window appears, as shown in Figure 6-3 "Create a Deployment Flow—Flow Properties Window."

The Create a Deployment Flow - Flow Properties window contains the following fields:

Flow Name (required) Must begin with a letter, digit, or underscore followed by letters, digits, underscores, spaces, hyphens, or dots ending with a letter, digit, or underscore. Range: 1 to 80 characters.

Description (optional) Limited to 512 characters. May contain any pertinent information about the flow that may be helpful to service provider operators.

Flow Type (required) Select one of the three radio buttons to:

•Upload config at beginning and download config at end of flow The device configlets are uploaded once at the beginning of the execution of the flow and downloaded once after successful completion of the flow. This saves considerable time spent uploading and downloading configurations.

•Upload config and download config for each flow step The device configlets are uploaded and downloaded at the beginning and end of each step (that is, each service or SR) in the flow. This is useful for viewing the interim device configurations generated by each step in the flow.

•Combine steps to be executed into a single step - The services in the flow are executed as one unit. All device configlets are uploaded at the beginning and downloaded at the end of the flow.

Notify Users (optional) Checkbox that determines if the User's Email Addresses field appears. Default: unchecked.

Step 3 Enter the required Flow Name and click the radio button for the Flow Type. Also, enter any optional information you want.

Step 4 Click Next and a window as shown in Figure 6-4, "Create a Deployment Flow—Select Steps Window," appears.

Step 5 To filter the shown selections, click the Show Services with checkbox and select from the following types: (Filter if you want to minimize your selections.)

•Job ID

•Customer Name

•VPN Name

•State

•Device Host Name

•CPE Host Name

•PE Host Name

•Description

Step 6 Click the checkbox for each service that you want to deploy (or click the checkbox in the top row to select all the choices).

Step 7 Click Next and a window as shown in Figure 6-5, "Create a Deployment Flow—Order Steps Window," appears.

Step 8 If you want to change the order of deployment, highlight an entry and click the up or down arrow until you get the order of your choice.

Step 9 Click Next.

Depending on any usage that you specified, a Create a Deployment Flow - Step Properties window similar to the one shown in Figure 6-6, "Create a Deployment Flow—Step Properties Window," appears.

Step 10 Review the information displayed. Do one of the following:

•If you wish to make changes to the information displayed, click Back until the window you want to change reappears and you can make the desired changes.

•If you wish to finalize the flow as specified, click Finish. The Deployment Flows window appears displaying a Status with a green check for Succeeded, as shown in Figure 6-7.

Step 11 To execute the flow, select the checkbox(es) for the flow(s) and click Run.

Step 12 To modify the created deployment flow, click the checkbox next to the flow you want to modify and then click the Modify button. You start from Figure 6-3, "Create a Deployment Flow—Flow Properties Window," with the selected Flow Name already available.

Step 13 To delete a deployment flow, click the checkbox next to the flow you want to delete and then click the Delete button. Then proceed to the "Deleting Deployment Flows" section.

Deleting Deployment Flows

From the Deployment Flows window, you can remove selected flows from the database.

To delete flows, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager.

Step 2 Select flow(s) to delete by checking the box(es) to the left of the Status/Flow Name.

Step 3 Click the Delete button. This button is only enabled if one or more flows are selected and the flows are not running.

The Confirm Deletion of Flow(s) window appears, as shown in Figure 6-8.

Step 4 Click OK to confirm that you want to delete the flows listed.

The Deployment Flows window reappears with the specified flows deleted.

Device Console

Device Console is the starting point for many operations. To navigate through Device Console, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console and you receive a window as shown in Figure 6-9, "Device Console Selections."

Step 2 To select one of the operations, click the radio button for one of the following selections and then click the Next button.

Note All operations must be in live not ECHO mode.

•Download Commands Download configuration files, configlets, and router commands.

•Download Template Downloads template configlets to the specified devices.

•Device Configuration Manager Lists configuration file versions and lists the time stamps for when the versions of the configuration file were written to the repository.

•EXEC Commands Allows you to send to target devices any Cisco IOS commands that can be executed in enable mode.

•Reload Remotely reloads devices.

Download Commands

To download commands, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Download Commands and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-10, "Device Console—Download Commands: Select Devices," appears.

Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-10, to 2. Select Devices.

Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-11, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with.

Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select.

Step 6 You return to Figure 6-10 with the added devices. You can repeat Step 3 to Step 5 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 7, or you can proceed by going to Step 8.

Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-10, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9.

Step 9 Continue with Step 10 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Enter Download Commands.

Step 10 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-12, to 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 11 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-13, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with.

Step 12 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select.

Step 13 You return to Figure 6-12 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16.

Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-12, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Enter Download Commands, starting in Step 16.

Step 16 For 4. Enter Download Commands, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-14, "Operation Commands."

Step 17 In Figure 6-14, you can click the Browse button to input an existing file with Cisco IOS configuration commands. Then click the Load File button to put the file's information in the Commands field. Otherwise, you can enter the Cisco IOS configuration commands directly in the Commands field.

Step 18 Click Next and you proceed to 5. Download Commands Summary, as explained in Step 19.

Step 19 For 5. Download Commands Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-15, "Download Commands Summary," appears.

Step 20 In Figure 6-15, if you leave the Upload config after download checkbox unchecked, you do not upload the configuration file after the download. If you click the Upload config after download checkbox, you upload the new configuration file after you download the commands in Step 17.

Step 21 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the download and you receive a window with the Download Commands Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded. You can click Download or Done.

Step 22 When you click Download, you return to Step 16 to download additional commands on the selected devices.

Step 23 When you click Done, you return to Figure 6-9.

Download Template

To download a template, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Download Template and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-16, "Device Console—Download Template: Select Devices," appears.

Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 9 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 11 for 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-16, to 2. Select Devices.

Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-17, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with.

Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select.

Step 6 You return to Figure 6-16 with the added devices.

Step 7 For each device, you can click the added Clear button to clear the Upload to Customer/Site column to reflect none selected, or you can click the added Select button and a new window allows you to Create Customer, Create Site, Select, or Cancel. When you click Select in this new window, you return to Figure 6-16 with the added customer/site.

Step 8 You can repeat Step 3 to Step 7 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 9, or you can proceed by going to Step 10.

Step 9 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-16, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 10 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 11.

Step 11 Continue with Step 12 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 16 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 18 for 4. Enter Download Commands.

Step 12 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-18, to 3. Select Device Groups. Adding Device Groups is not required.

Step 13 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-19, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with.

Step 14 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select.

Step 15 You return to Figure 6-18 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 12 to Step 14 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 16, or you can proceed by going to Step 18.

Step 16 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-18, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 17 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Select Download Template, starting in Step 18.

Step 18 For 4. Select Download Template, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-20, "Select Download Template."

Step 19 In Figure 6-20, you can click the Select button.

Step 20 A window as shown in Figure 6-21, "Add/Remove Templates," appears. Click Add to add templates or Remove to remove templates. When you have the templates you want, click OK.

When you click Add you get a Template Datafile Chooser window with the template choices in the tree. Click + to open the folders and subfolders in the tree, until you get the property to you want to choose. Click on that property and it is added to your list. Repeat this until all the templates you want are in your list. In each added property, you can click View and you receive the configlet for that data file. To return, click OK. In Figure 6-21, click the checkbox(es) for the template(s) you want. In each template, click the Action drop-down menu and choose APPEND or PREPEND to add information after or before; click or unclick the Active button; and then click OK.

Step 21 You return to Figure 6-21 with the updated information.

Step 22 Click Next and you proceed to 5. Download Template Summary, as explained in Step 23.

Step 23 For 5. Download Commands Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-22, "Download Template Summary," appears.

Step 24 In Figure 6-22, if you leave the Upload config after download checkbox unchecked, you do not upload the configuration file after the download. If you click the Upload config after download checkbox, you upload the new configuration file after you download the templates in Step 20.

Step 25 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the download and you receive a window with the Download Template Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded, as shown in Figure 6-23, "Download Template Results."

Step 26 Click Done and you return to Figure 6-9.

Device Configuration Manager

To execute the device configuration manager, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Device Configuration Manager and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-24, "Device Configuration Manager," appears.

Step 2 In the Device row, click Select and a window as shown in Figure 6-25, "Device Selection," appears.

Step 3 From the devices listed, click the radio button for the device you want to select. Then click Select.

Step 4 You return to Figure 6-24 with the added device. You can repeat Step 2 to Step 3 to change the device.

Step 5 When you have all the devices you want, go to the Configuration to Display row and click the Select a Version... drop-down menu. Click the version you want and then click Load to load that configuration file.

Step 6 The configuration file is displayed in the Displayed Configuration panel.

Step 7 Click one of the following radio buttons or keep the default:

•Display only The configuration file can only be viewed.

•Download to startup The configuration file is downloaded to the start up configuration of the selected router.

Note For Download to startup, the Device Access Protocol (defined in device creation) must be either ftp or tftp. If this is not the case, the Device Configuration Manager Results window appears and indicates that you must set up either ftp or tftp.

•Download to running The configuration file is downloaded to the router's running configuration file.

Note When the DCPL property copy-running-to-startup in the GTL/ios folder is set to the default of true, the router's running configuration file is also copied to the start up configuration.

Step 8 Click Finish. If in Step 7 you chose Display only, you automatically return to Figure 6-9. If in Step 7 you clicked Download to startup or Download to running, you get a Device Configuration Manager Results window. In the Status box, you get a green check mark for Succeeded or a red Failed status and you must click Done to return to Figure 6-9.

EXEC Commands

EXEC Commands allows you to send to target devices any Cisco IOS commands that can be executed in enable mode. You can only view the router information. You cannot edit or delete the information.

To execute EXEC Commands, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > EXEC Commands and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-26, "Device Console—EXEC Commands: Select Devices," appears.

Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-26, to 2. Select Devices.

Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-27, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with.

Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select.

Step 6 You return to Figure 6-26 with the added devices. You can repeat Step 3 to Step 5 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 7, or you can proceed by going to Step 8.

Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-26, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9.

Step 9 Continue with Step 10 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Enter EXEC Commands.

Step 10 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-28, to 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 11 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-29, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with.

Step 12 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select.

Step 13 You return to Figure 6-28 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16.

Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-28, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Enter EXEC Commands, starting in Step 16.

Step 16 For 4. Enter EXEC Commands, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-30, "Operation Commands."

Step 17 In Figure 6-30, you can click the Browse button to input an existing file with Cisco IOS configuration commands. Then click the Load File button to put the file's information in the Commands field. Otherwise, you can enter the Cisco IOS configuration commands directly in the Commands field.

Step 18 Click Next and you proceed to 5. EXEC Commands Summary, as explained in Step 19.

Step 20 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to retrieve the information from the router. You then receive a window with the EXEC Commands Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded. You can click EXEC or Done.

Step 21 When you click EXEC, you return to Step 16 to enter additional commands on the selected devices.

Step 22 When you click Done, you return to Figure 6-9.

Reload

To reload, do the following:

Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Reload. A window as shown in Figure 6-32, "Device Console—Reload: Select Devices," appears.

Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-32, to 2. Select Devices.

Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-33, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with.

Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select.

Step 6 You return to Figure 6-32 with the added devices. You can repeat Step 3 to Step 5 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 7, or you can proceed by going to Step 8.

Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-32, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9.

Step 9 Continue with Step 11 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Reload Devices Summary.

Step 10 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-34, to 3. Select Device Groups.

Step 11 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-35, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with.

Step 12 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select.

Step 13 You return to Figure 6-35 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16.

Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-34, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion.

Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Reload Device Groups, starting in Step 16.

Step 16 For 4. Reload Devices Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-36, "Reload Summary," appears.

Step 17 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the reload and you receive a window with the Reload Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded.

Step 18 Click Done and you return to Figure 6-9.

Figure 6-1 Service Inventory Selections Click on Deployment Flow Manager and you proceed directly to create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flow, as shown in the Deployment Flow Manager. Click on Device Console and you proceed directly to download commands and configlets to devices and view device configuration, as shown in Device Console. Deployment Flow Manager Deployment flows are typically used for provisioning end-to-end services. Services may be combined in several ways and deployed as though they were a single service. The types of services that may be embedded into a Deployment Flow include: •MPLS •IPsec •L2VPN •QoS •Firewall This section describes how you can create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flows and includes the following: •Accessing the Deployment Flow Manager Window •Deployment Flow - Creating, Executing, and Modifying •Deleting Deployment Flows Accessing the Deployment Flow Manager Window The Deployment Flow Manager feature is used to create, manage, and monitor Deployment Flows. To access the Deployment Flow Manager window, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager to access the Deployment Flows window shown in Figure 6-2. Figure 6-2 Deployment Flows Window From the Deployment Flows window, you can create, modify, and manage deployment flows using the following buttons: Create Click to create a new deployment flow. Always enabled. Modify Click to modify a selected deployment flow (select by clicking the corresponding box). Enabled only if one deployment flow is selected and the flow has not been started (NOT_STARTED). Delete Click to delete selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are not running (RUNNING). Run Click to run selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are not started (NOT_STARTED). Resume Click to resume selected deployment flows (select by clicking the corresponding boxes). Enabled only if the selected flows are suspended (SUSPENDED). Monitor Click to monitor a selected deployment flow (select by clicking the corresponding box). Enabled only if one deployment flow is selected. The flow can be in any state. The Deployment Flows window displays the State of the flow. The Deployment Flow Manager supports the following flow states: •NOT_STARTED The process instance has been created, but has not started yet •RUNNING The process instance is executing •SUSPENDED Deployment of the process instance is temporarily suspended •COMPLETED Deployment of the process instance is completed •COMPLETED_WITH_ERRORS Deployment of the process instance completed, but with errors for steps for which the Ignore Completion Status checkbox was checked. Note You can filter the deployment flows that appear by choosing from the Show Deployment Flows with drop-down menu and entering information in the matching field and clicking Find. Deployment Flow - Creating, Executing, and Modifying Deploying a flow involves two basic tasks: defining the steps in the flow, and executing the steps once they have been specified. To create a deployment flow, do the following. Once you have completed the creation, you can modify, delete, run, resume, and monitor. Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager. Step 2 Click the Create button. The Create a Deployment Flow - Flow Properties window appears, as shown in Figure 6-3 "Create a Deployment Flow—Flow Properties Window." Figure 6-3 Create a Deployment Flow—Flow Properties Window The Create a Deployment Flow - Flow Properties window contains the following fields: Flow Name (required) Must begin with a letter, digit, or underscore followed by letters, digits, underscores, spaces, hyphens, or dots ending with a letter, digit, or underscore. Range: 1 to 80 characters. Description (optional) Limited to 512 characters. May contain any pertinent information about the flow that may be helpful to service provider operators. Flow Type (required) Select one of the three radio buttons to: •Upload config at beginning and download config at end of flow The device configlets are uploaded once at the beginning of the execution of the flow and downloaded once after successful completion of the flow. This saves considerable time spent uploading and downloading configurations. •Upload config and download config for each flow step The device configlets are uploaded and downloaded at the beginning and end of each step (that is, each service or SR) in the flow. This is useful for viewing the interim device configurations generated by each step in the flow. •Combine steps to be executed into a single step - The services in the flow are executed as one unit. All device configlets are uploaded at the beginning and downloaded at the end of the flow. Notify Users (optional) Checkbox that determines if the User's Email Addresses field appears. Default: unchecked. Step 3 Enter the required Flow Name and click the radio button for the Flow Type. Also, enter any optional information you want. Step 4 Click Next and a window as shown in Figure 6-4, "Create a Deployment Flow—Select Steps Window," appears. Figure 6-4 Create a Deployment Flow—Select Steps Window Step 5 To filter the shown selections, click the Show Services with checkbox and select from the following types: (Filter if you want to minimize your selections.) •Job ID •Customer Name •VPN Name •State •Device Host Name •CPE Host Name •PE Host Name •Description Step 6 Click the checkbox for each service that you want to deploy (or click the checkbox in the top row to select all the choices). Step 7 Click Next and a window as shown in Figure 6-5, "Create a Deployment Flow—Order Steps Window," appears. Figure 6-5 Create a Deployment Flow—Order Steps Window Step 8 If you want to change the order of deployment, highlight an entry and click the up or down arrow until you get the order of your choice. Step 9 Click Next. Depending on any usage that you specified, a Create a Deployment Flow - Step Properties window similar to the one shown in Figure 6-6, "Create a Deployment Flow—Step Properties Window," appears. Do one of the following: •If you wish to make changes to the information displayed, click Back until the window you want to change reappears and you can make the desired changes. •If you wish to finalize the flow as specified, click Finish. The Deployment Flows window appears displaying a Status with a green check for Succeeded, as shown in Figure 6-7. Figure 6-7 Deployment Flow Status Window Step 11 To execute the flow, select the checkbox(es) for the flow(s) and click Run. Step 12 To modify the created deployment flow, click the checkbox next to the flow you want to modify and then click the Modify button. You start from Figure 6-3, "Create a Deployment Flow—Flow Properties Window," with the selected Flow Name already available. Step 13 To delete a deployment flow, click the checkbox next to the flow you want to delete and then click the Delete button. Then proceed to the "Deleting Deployment Flows" section. Deleting Deployment Flows From the Deployment Flows window, you can remove selected flows from the database. To delete flows, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Deployment Flow Manager. Step 2 Select flow(s) to delete by checking the box(es) to the left of the Status/Flow Name. Step 3 Click the Delete button. This button is only enabled if one or more flows are selected and the flows are not running. The Confirm Deletion of Flow(s) window appears, as shown in Figure 6-8. Figure 6-8 Confirm Deletion of Flow(s) Window Step 4 Click OK to confirm that you want to delete the flows listed. The Deployment Flows window reappears with the specified flows deleted. Device Console Device Console is the starting point for many operations. To navigate through Device Console, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console and you receive a window as shown in Figure 6-9, "Device Console Selections." Figure 6-9 Device Console Selections Step 2 To select one of the operations, click the radio button for one of the following selections and then click the Next button. Note All operations must be in live not ECHO mode. •Download Commands Download configuration files, configlets, and router commands. •Download Template Downloads template configlets to the specified devices. •Device Configuration Manager Lists configuration file versions and lists the time stamps for when the versions of the configuration file were written to the repository. •EXEC Commands Allows you to send to target devices any Cisco IOS commands that can be executed in enable mode. •Reload Remotely reloads devices. Download Commands To download commands, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Download Commands and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-10, "Device Console—Download Commands: Select Devices," appears. Figure 6-10 Device Console—Download Commands: Select Devices Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups. Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-10, to 2. Select Devices. Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-11, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with. Figure 6-11 Device Selection Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select. Step 6 You return to Figure 6-10 with the added devices. You can repeat Step 3 to Step 5 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 7, or you can proceed by going to Step 8. Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-10, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9. Step 9 Continue with Step 10 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Enter Download Commands. Step 10 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-12, to 3. Select Device Groups. Figure 6-12 Device Group Selection Step 11 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-13, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with. Figure 6-13 Group Association Step 12 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select. Step 13 You return to Figure 6-12 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16. Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-12, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Enter Download Commands, starting in Step 16. Step 16 For 4. Enter Download Commands, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-14, "Operation Commands." Figure 6-14 Operation Commands Step 17 In Figure 6-14, you can click the Browse button to input an existing file with Cisco IOS configuration commands. Then click the Load File button to put the file's information in the Commands field. Otherwise, you can enter the Cisco IOS configuration commands directly in the Commands field. Step 18 Click Next and you proceed to 5. Download Commands Summary, as explained in Step 19. Step 19 For 5. Download Commands Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-15, "Download Commands Summary," appears. Figure 6-15 Download Commands Summary Step 20 In Figure 6-15, if you leave the Upload config after download checkbox unchecked, you do not upload the configuration file after the download. If you click the Upload config after download checkbox, you upload the new configuration file after you download the commands in Step 17. Step 21 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the download and you receive a window with the Download Commands Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded. You can click Download or Done. Step 22 When you click Download, you return to Step 16 to download additional commands on the selected devices. Step 23 When you click Done, you return to Figure 6-9. Download Template To download a template, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Download Template and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-16, "Device Console—Download Template: Select Devices," appears. Figure 6-16 Device Console—Download Template: Select Devices Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 9 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 11 for 3. Select Device Groups. Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-16, to 2. Select Devices. Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-17, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with. Figure 6-17 Device Selection Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select. Step 6 You return to Figure 6-16 with the added devices. Step 7 For each device, you can click the added Clear button to clear the Upload to Customer/Site column to reflect none selected, or you can click the added Select button and a new window allows you to Create Customer, Create Site, Select, or Cancel. When you click Select in this new window, you return to Figure 6-16 with the added customer/site. Step 8 You can repeat Step 3 to Step 7 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 9, or you can proceed by going to Step 10. Step 9 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-16, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 10 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 11. Step 11 Continue with Step 12 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 16 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 18 for 4. Enter Download Commands. Step 12 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-18, to 3. Select Device Groups. Adding Device Groups is not required. Figure 6-18 Device Group Selection Step 13 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-19, "Group Association,"you can filter the choices: Device Group Name; or Description from Show Device Groups with. Figure 6-19 Group Association Step 14 From the device groups listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device group you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the device groups. Then click Select. Step 15 You return to Figure 6-18 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 12 to Step 14 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 16, or you can proceed by going to Step 18. Step 16 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-18, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 17 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Select Download Template, starting in Step 18. Step 18 For 4. Select Download Template, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-20, "Select Download Template." Figure 6-20 Select Download Template Step 19 In Figure 6-20, you can click the Select button. Step 20 A window as shown in Figure 6-21, "Add/Remove Templates," appears. Click Add to add templates or Remove to remove templates. When you have the templates you want, click OK. When you click Add you get a Template Datafile Chooser window with the template choices in the tree. Click + to open the folders and subfolders in the tree, until you get the property to you want to choose. Click on that property and it is added to your list. Repeat this until all the templates you want are in your list. In each added property, you can click View and you receive the configlet for that data file. To return, click OK. In Figure 6-21, click the checkbox(es) for the template(s) you want. In each template, click the Action drop-down menu and choose APPEND or PREPEND to add information after or before; click or unclick the Active button; and then click OK. Figure 6-21 Add/Remove Templates Step 21 You return to Figure 6-21 with the updated information. Step 22 Click Next and you proceed to 5. Download Template Summary, as explained in Step 23. Step 23 For 5. Download Commands Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-22, "Download Template Summary," appears. Figure 6-22 Download Template Summary Step 24 In Figure 6-22, if you leave the Upload config after download checkbox unchecked, you do not upload the configuration file after the download. If you click the Upload config after download checkbox, you upload the new configuration file after you download the templates in Step 20. Step 25 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the download and you receive a window with the Download Template Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded, as shown in Figure 6-23, "Download Template Results." Figure 6-23 Download Template Results Step 26 Click Done and you return to Figure 6-9. Device Configuration Manager To execute the device configuration manager, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Device Configuration Manager and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-24, "Device Configuration Manager," appears. Figure 6-24 Device Configuration Manager Step 2 In the Device row, click Select and a window as shown in Figure 6-25, "Device Selection," appears. Figure 6-25 Device Selection Step 3 From the devices listed, click the radio button for the device you want to select. Then click Select. Step 4 You return to Figure 6-24 with the added device. You can repeat Step 2 to Step 3 to change the device. Step 5 When you have all the devices you want, go to the Configuration to Display row and click the Select a Version... drop-down menu. Click the version you want and then click Load to load that configuration file. Step 6 The configuration file is displayed in the Displayed Configuration panel. Step 7 Click one of the following radio buttons or keep the default: •Display only The configuration file can only be viewed. •Download to startup The configuration file is downloaded to the start up configuration of the selected router. Note For Download to startup, the Device Access Protocol (defined in device creation) must be either ftp or tftp. If this is not the case, the Device Configuration Manager Results window appears and indicates that you must set up either ftp or tftp. •Download to running The configuration file is downloaded to the router's running configuration file. Note When the DCPL property copy-running-to-startup in the GTL/ios folder is set to the default of true, the router's running configuration file is also copied to the start up configuration. Step 8 Click Finish. If in Step 7 you chose Display only, you automatically return to Figure 6-9. If in Step 7 you clicked Download to startup or Download to running, you get a Device Configuration Manager Results window. In the Status box, you get a green check mark for Succeeded or a red Failed status and you must click Done to return to Figure 6-9. EXEC Commands EXEC Commands allows you to send to target devices any Cisco IOS commands that can be executed in enable mode. You can only view the router information. You cannot edit or delete the information. To execute EXEC Commands, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > EXEC Commands and click Next. A window as shown in Figure 6-26, "Device Console—EXEC Commands: Select Devices," appears. Figure 6-26 Device Console—EXEC Commands: Select Devices Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups. Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-26, to 2. Select Devices. Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-27, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with. Figure 6-27 Device Selection Step 5 From the devices listed, click the checkbox(es) for each device you want to select or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices. Then click Select. Step 6 You return to Figure 6-26 with the added devices. You can repeat Step 3 to Step 5 to Add more devices, you can delete devices, as explained in Step 7, or you can proceed by going to Step 8. Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-26, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9. Step 9 Continue with Step 10 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Enter EXEC Commands. Step 10 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-28, to 3. Select Device Groups. Then click Select. Step 13 You return to Figure 6-28 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16. Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-28, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Enter EXEC Commands, starting in Step 16. Step 16 For 4. Enter EXEC Commands, the resulting window is shown in Figure 6-30, "Operation Commands." You then receive a window with the EXEC Commands Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded. You can click EXEC or Done. Step 21 When you click EXEC, you return to Step 16 to enter additional commands on the selected devices. Step 22 When you click Done, you return to Figure 6-9. Reload To reload, do the following: Step 1 Navigate Service Inventory > Device Console > Reload. A window as shown in Figure 6-32, "Device Console—Reload: Select Devices," appears. Figure 6-32 Device Console—Reload: Select Devices Step 2 Continue with Step 3 if you want to add devices; proceed to Step 7 to delete devices; or click Next to proceed to Step 9 for 3. Select Device Groups. Step 3 Click Add, as shown in Figure 6-32, to 2. Select Devices. Step 4 From the resulting window, as shown in Figure 6-33, "Device Selection," you can filter the choices: Device Name; Device Group; or Collection Zone from Show Devices with. Then click Select. Step 6 You return to Figure 6-32 with the added devices. Step 7 To delete devices, you can filter the list in Figure 6-32, by choosing a Category: Any, Name, or Group and entering the characters you want in Matching and then clicking Filter. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 8 When you have all the devices you want, click Next. You proceed to 3. Select Device Groups, starting in Step 9. Step 9 Continue with Step 11 if you want to add device groups; proceed to Step 14 to delete device groups; or click Next to proceed to Step 16 for 4. Reload Devices Summary. Then click Select. Step 13 You return to Figure 6-35 with the added device groups. You can repeat Step 10 to Step 12 to Add more device groups, you can delete device groups, as explained in Step 14, or you can proceed by going to Step 16. Step 14 To delete device groups, you can filter the list in Figure 6-34, by entering the characters you want in Group name matching and then clicking Filter. From the resulting list, click the checkbox(es) for the devices you want to delete or click the checkbox in the header row to select all the devices and then click Delete. There is no chance to confirm this deletion. Step 15 When you have all the device groups you want, click Next. You proceed to 4. Reload Device Groups, starting in Step 16. Step 16 For 4. Reload Devices Summary, a window as shown in Figure 6-36, "Reload Summary," appears. Figure 6-36 Reload Summary Step 17 Click Back until you correct any information you want to change or click Finish to submit the reload and you receive a window with the Reload Results and a Status with a green check for Succeeded. Step 18 Click Done and you return to Figure 6-9.
