This chapter provides information about how to get started to use Cisco IP Solution Center (ISC) and this manual. The information is in the following categories:
Cisco IP Solution Center, 3.1 (ISC 3.1) is a follow-on release to Cisco IP Solution Center, 3.0 (ISC 3.0).
This manual lists many features that are common among all the services, which are sold and licensed separately. The services reference this document for setup steps necessary before creating a policy specific to the service.
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is separated into the following large sections (tabs):
•Service Inventory
•Service Design
•Monitoring
•Administration
"Structural Overview" gives an overview of each of the sections and the subsections of this manual that explain the functionality available from these tabs.
System Recommendations
The system recommendations and requirements are listed in Chapter 1, "System Recommendations" of the Cisco IP Solution Center Installation Guide, 3.1 (Part Number: OL-16061). The recommendation is to thoroughly review this list before even planning your installation, to be sure that you have all the hardware and software you need to successfully install.
Caution Repositories used with VPNSC releases, ISC 3.0, and ISC 3.0 with patches must be manually migrated to use them with ISC.
