1 SUPPLEMENTAL LICENSE AGREEMENT

SUPPLEMENTAL LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR CISCO SYSTEMS NETWORK MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE: CiscoWorks QoS POLICY MANAGER

IMPORTANT—READ CAREFULLY: The Supplemental License Agreement ("SLA") contains additional limitations on the license to the Software are provided to Customer under the Software License Agreement between Customer and Cisco. Capitalized terms used in this SLA and not otherwise defined herein shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Software License Agreement. To the extent that there is a conflict among any of these terms and conditions applicable to the Software, the terms and conditions in this SLA shall take precedence.

By installing, downloading, accessing or otherwise using the Software, Customer agrees to be bound by the terms of this SLA. If Customer does not agree to the terms of this SLA, Customer may not install, download, or otherwise use the Software.

1. ADDITIONAL LICENSE RESTRICTIONS

•Installation and Use. The Software components are provided to Customer solely to install, update, supplement, or replace existing functionality of the applicable Network Management Software product. Customer may install and use following Software components:

–QoS Policy Manager (QPM): May be installed on one (1) server in Customer's network management environment.

–Common Services 3.0.5: May be installed on one (1) server in Customer's network management environment.

2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS.

2 QoS Policy Manager Overview

This Quick Start Guide provides basic requirements and procedures for installing, upgrading, and setting up CiscoWorks QoS Policy Manager (QPM) 4.0, so that you can get your server up and running as quickly as possible.

About QPM

QoS Policy Manager (QPM) lets you analyze traffic throughput by application or service class, and then leverage that information to configure QoS policies to differentiate traffic and to define the QoS functions to be applied to each type of traffic flow. Using QoS policies, QPM also allows you to monitor network traffic based on historical, real-time, or threshold analysis.

By simplifying QoS policy definition and deployment, QPM makes it easier for you to create and manage end-to-end differentiated services in your network, thus making more efficient and economical use of your existing network resources.

For example, you can deploy policies that ensure that your mission-critical applications always get the bandwidth required to run your business.

QPM is suitable for large-scale enterprise deployments, and IP telephony deployments, consisting of hundreds or thousands of devices. QPM helps you to manage large networks by providing advanced user authorization capabilities through integration with Cisco Access Control Server (ACS).

QPM runs on the CiscoWorks Common Services server, which provides the infrastructure required by QPM to run from the CiscoWorks desktop environment, and also provides management of user roles and privileges, allowing you to control who gets access to specific tasks in QPM.

What's New?

QPM 4.0 is a major release intended to restructure the QoS Management product line after the release of QPM 3.2.3, by adding significant new features with updated device/OS support

The following new features are added in QoS Policy Manager 4.0:

•Significant Platform Upgrades (support for Solaris 8 and 9, Windows 2003)

•Compatability with Common Services 3.0.5 and LMS 2.6

•Support for additional devices in the Catalyst series including Cat 2950, 3560, 3750, 4500, and 4900

•Support for the many new devices including Catalyst 2960, ME-2400 and ME-3400, and AS5xxx

•Device synchronization with CiscoWorks Device Credential Repository (DCR)

•Availability of Monitoring Only mode

•Availability of new QoS features (heirarchical QoS or nested policies, PDLM support, VC Bundle support, additional output scheduling support for Catalyst 6000)

•Support for Time-Based ACL to police applications and class maps that are time-of-the-day sensitive

•Set up of traffic compression properties for class-based RTP and TCP IP header

•Support for configuring SRR mappings for Ingress and Egress queues, based on weighed threshold drop (WTD) percentages, buffer values, and class of service (CoS) values

•Defining Traffic Control settings by enabling CoS override and QoS preclassification, and by changing the Maximum Reserved Bandwidth

•Monitoring of devices for threshold violations, by generating events when low or high threshold values are crossed.

3 Server and Client System Requirements

This section provides QoS Policy Manager server and client requirements:

•Table 1 describes the server requirements for installing the QoS Policy Manager components on Windows systems.

•Table 2 describes the server requirements for installing the QoS Policy Manager components on Solaris systems

•Table 3 describes the client system requirements.

Caution If the server does not meet the recommended system requirements, QPM startup and performance might be slow, or QPM might not work at all on the server

For maximum performance, Cisco recommends that you use a dedicated server for QPM.

Keep these recommendations in mind while evaluating Windows systems for installing CiscoWorks Common Services 3.0.5 and QPM 4.0:

•Do not install CiscoWorks on a system that is configured as a primary or backup domain controller.

•Do not install CiscoWorks on Advanced Server with terminal services enabled in application server mode.

•Do not install CiscoWorks on a FAT file system.

•Do not install CiscoWorks on Windows XP.

Keep these recommendations in mind while evaluating Solaris systems for installing CiscoWorks Common Services 3.0.5 and QPM 4.0:

•Ensure that you download and install the latest required and recommeded patches for Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 from www.sunsolve.sun.com.

•The required patches are mandatory for all Common Services features to function properly.

•The recommended patches are optional. Some of the Common Services features may not work if these patches are not installed on your system.

1 Common Services 3.0.5 supports only US-English and Japanese versions of Windows Operating Systems. It does not support any other language version. Installation might proceed normally in other locales but there might be problems in the functionality of CiscoWorks.

4 Installation Paths

Please review the information in Table 4 to determine the installation path for QoS Policy Manager 4.0 to successfully operate.

5 Installing the Software on Windows

These sections describe how to install the bundle components on Microsoft Windows servers.

Installing Common Services 3.0.5 on Windows

Before you begin:

•Close all running programs.

•Install Common Services on a system that has a static IP address.

•Ensure that Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) services are not running. If they are running they may lock some CiscoWorks processes and may terminate the installation.

•Disable any virus scanning or intrusion detection software that might be running on the server. These types of software can interfere with the installation.

•If you are reinstalling Common Services, make sure the target directory is empty or does not exist before beginning the installation.

•If you are running HP OpenView Network Node Manager or NetView, the installation might take significantly longer to complete. Stop all HP OpenView Network Node Manager or NetView services before installing Common Services.

To install Common Services 3.0.5 on Windows:

Step 1 Insert the QPM 4.0 DVD into the DVD drive.

Step 2 Select Start > Run, and enter d:\QPM4_0\CS_3_0_5_installation\Windows_K9\CS_3_0_5_K9.exe,
where d is your DVD drive.

The Installer window appears

Step 3 Click Install to continue.

The Welcome screen appears.

Step 4 Click Next to continue.

The Software License Agreement dialog box appears.

Step 5 Click Accept to accept the license agreement and proceed with the installation

or

Click Do Not Accept to deny the agreement and stop the installation

•If you select Accept, and continue with the installation, the installation program checks the name lookup and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

•If static IP address is not configured on your system, the DHCP-Enabled Network Adapters dialog box appears. Click Yes to continue installation.

The Setup Type dialog box appears.

Step 6 Click Next to continue after you select the desired installation mode as Typical.

The installation program checks dependencies and component requirements.

The System Requirements dialog box appears with the system requirements, available space in the drive and Temp Directory (%TEMP%), and available memory.

•If your system does not meet the requirements, a warning appears:

System memory is less than the minimum requirement, which may affect performance.

•If the drive does not have enough space, an error message appears:

There is not enough space in drive drive name.
Please free some space on drive name.

•If your system does not have the minimum CPU speed, a warning appears:

Warning: Current CPU speed is less than the minimum requirement, which may affect performance.

•If your system does not have the minimum swap space, a warning appears:

Warning: Current swap space is less than the minimum requirement, which may affect performance.

Step 7 Click Next to continue installation.

The Change Admin Password dialog box appears.

Step 8 Enter the user admin password and confirm it.

Step 9 Click Next to continue installation.

The Change System Identity Account Password dialog box appears.

Step 10 Enter the System Identity Account password and confirm it.

In a multi-server environment, you must configure all systems part of your multi-server setup with the same System Identity Account password.

Step 11 Click Next to continue installation.

If you are installing Common Services 3.0.5 on a system for the first time, the Create casuser dialog box appears after you enter the System Identity Account password.

•Click No to exit the installation and create casuser yourself and rerun the installation. Casuser is the user who administers and maintains CiscoWorks Server, without having administrative privileges.

•Click Yes to allow the installation program to create the local user casuser.

If you select Yes and continue with the installation, the Summary dialog box appears, displaying the summary of settings for the installation.

•If you want to view passwords and other security sensitive data, click Show Details. The Show Details button is visible only if Common Services has been installed as one of the options.

If you click Show Details, the Security Alert dialog box appears.

–Click Yes in the Security Alert dialog box to view the Summary page with the passwords and other security sensitive data.

You can select and copy the data from the Summary page.

–Click Hide Details to hide the details.

If you want to change any settings, click Back.

Step 12 Click Next to continue.

The installation proceeds.

If you are installing from a network drive, the installation might take longer to complete. This happens especially for CiscoView device packages.

The Restart dialog box appears after installation completes.

Step 13 Select Yes and click Finish.

Your Windows machine has CS 3.0.5 installed successfully.

Installing the CS DST Patch on Windows

The Common Services Daylight Saving Time (DST) patch will update the JRE and JPI that are shipped with Common Services. The DST patch can be installed on a server that has CS 3.0.5 already installed.

QPM 4.0 product DVD contains the CS DST patch as an executable called cwdst3_0_x_win_k9.exe, in the folder QPM4_0\US_DST_Patch\cwdst3_0_x_win_K9. You can directly run this installation program, without the need to download and unzip the CS DST patch from Cisco.com

Installing QoS Policy Manager 4.0 on Windows

Before you begin, verify that :

•CiscoWorks Common Services 3.0.5 is installed on your computer.

•The machine on which you are going to install QPM meets the requirements for running QPM.

•The ports that QPM uses are not being used by another application. QPM uses these ports:

–51099—JNDI lookup port

–51199—JRMP lookup port

–51299—Admin page port

–43460—Database port

–49156—EMS database port

–51399—PDP port

–61162—SNMP port for RMON traps

To install QPM 4.0 on Windows:

Step 1 Insert the QPM 4.0 DVD into your DVD drive.

We recommend that you do not install QPM from a network DVD drive.

Step 2 Select Start > Run, and enter d:\QPM4_0\QPM_4_0_installation\Windows_K9\QPM_4_0_K9.exe,
where d is your DVD drive.

The Installer window appears.

Step 3 Click Install to continue.

The Welcome window appears.

Step 4 Click Next to continue.

The Software License Agreement window appears.

Step 5 Click either:

•Yes to accept the license agreement and proceed with the installation,

Or

•No to deny and stop the installation.

The System Requirements window appears.

Step 6 Check whether your system meets the requirements and click Next to continue.

The Summary window appears with the summary of settings for the installation.

Step 7 Click Next to continue.

The Licensing Information dialog box appears (Please minimize all other windows if you do not find this dialog box).

•If you have a license for QPM, click License File Location and specify the location of the license file.

•If you want to evaluate the product before purchasing a license, click Evaluation Only.

Step 8 Click Next to continue.

The Details of Licenses Installed popup appears.

Step 9 Click either:

•Yes if you want to add incremental license packs,

Or

•No if you have completed adding licenses.

The Setup Complete window appears.

Step 10 Click Finish to complete the installation.

You must restart your computer before you begin to work with QPM. The QPM services start automatically whenever you start your computer.

6 Verifying the Installation on Windows

The CiscoWorks Server desktop is the interface for CiscoWorks network management applications, including QPM.

Before you begin to work with QPM, you should ensure that you have the appropriate permissions.

To verify the QPM installation, log into CiscoWorks:

Step 1 Go to your web browser and start CiscoWorks.

The default URL is http://QPMinstall:1741, where QPMinstall is the name of the computer with the QPM installation.

The CiscoWorks Home Page appears.

Step 2 Verify that the browser you are using is a supported version, and that JavaScript and cookies are enabled.

If they are not enabled, change your browser preferences to enable them.

Step 3 Log into CiscoWorks with your username and password.

The CiscoWorks Home Page appears.

Step 4 Click QoS Policy Manager in the QoS Policy Management panel.

QPM opens in a separate browser window.

If you encounter problems starting QPM, see the Installation Guide for CiscoWorks QoS Policy Manager 4.0, for possible causes and solutions.

7 Installing the Software on Solaris

These sections describe how to install the bundle components on Solaris servers.

•Installing Common Services 3.0.5 on Solaris

Installing Common Services 3.0.5 on Solaris

This section describes how to install Common Services 3.0.5 on a Solaris server that does not contain any previous version of the product.

Note the following points before you install Common Services 3.0.5:

•When there is a prompt during the installation, the values in square bracket are default values. If you press Enter when the installation program prompts you to enter a value, the program takes the default value.

•You must have root privileges to install Common Services.

•Do not run any other program when the installation is in progress.

•Do not install Common Services on a system that does not have Name Lookup.

•If you are running HP OpenView Network Node Manager (HPOVNNM) or NetView, the installation might take significantly longer to complete. Stop all HP OpenView Network Node Manager (HPOVNNM) or NetView services before installing Common Services.

•If your system does not have enough disk space, you might see an error message that the installation system is running out of disk space. You can either free up disk space on the system and continue the installation, or stop and exit the installation.

•Ensure that you download and install the latest required and recommeded patches for Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 from www.sunsolve.sun.com.

•The required patches are mandatory for all Common Services features to function properly.

•The recommended patches are optional.

To install Common Services 3.0.5 on Solaris:

---

Step 1 Mount the QPM 4.0 DVD as root.

Step 2 Enter the following at the prompt:

# cd /dvd/qpm4_0/CS_3_0_5_installation/Solaris_K9

# ./setup.sh

where dvd is the mount point for your DVD drive.

A message appears:

Press ENTER to read/browse the following License Agreement

Step 3 Press Enter to read the license agreement.

The following message appears at the end of the license agreement:

You must accept this License Agreement to proceed with the installation.
If you enter N/n, the installation will exit.
Do you accept all the terms of the License Agreement? (y/n) [n]:

Step 4 Enter either:

•Y and press Enter to accept the license and proceed with the installation.

Or

•N and press Enter to deny and stop the installation.

Step 5 Press Y to continue.

Error messages or warning messages appear if you do not have the required or recommended Server and Client patches.

We recommend you download and install the latest required and recommended patches from www.sunsolve.sun.com, before you run Common Services.

If any of the required Server patches is missing, the following message appears:

Installation can proceed without the required Server patches.However, you must install the required patches listed above before running CiscoWorks.
Do you want to continue the installation? (y/n) [y]:

If you enter Y and proceed with the installation, the following message appears:

Choose the type of Setup you prefer.

1) Typical installation.
Installs the product in the default location /opt/CSCOpx.
Allows you to select the components to be installed.
Prompts for CiscoWorks admin password and System Identity Account password
Randomly generates CiscoWorks guest database passwords if they do not exist.

Recommended for most users.

2) Custom installation.

Allows you to select the product location.
Allows you to select components to be installed.
Prompts for CiscoWorks admin, guest, System Identity Account and database passwords if they do not exist.

Recommended for advanced users.

Select one of the installation modes using its number or (q) to quit [1]:

Step 6 Press either:

•Enter to proceed with the installation after you select the Typical mode as given in Prerequisites for Installing Common Services 3.0.5.

Or

•Q to quit the installation.

If you press Enter to proceed with the installation, the following message appears:

Enter the location where the product will be installed. The default location is /opt/CSCOpx. If you choose another location, installation will create a symbolic link /opt/CSCOpx to that location.

Enter location or q to quit [/opt/CSCOpx]:

The Custom path or location you specify cannot be the sub-directory of /opt/CSCOpx.

Caution Do not remove the link after installation. Common Services will not work without this symbolic link.

---

Step 7 Press Enter to accept the default directory for product installation, or enter a different directory.

The installation program calculates the minimum disk space required for installing the product.

If the disk space is sufficient, the following message appears:

Sufficient disk space

If the drive does not have enough space, an error message appears and the installation exits.

Step 8 Enter the CiscoWorks admin password and confirm it.

Step 9 Enter the guest password and confirm it.

Step 10 Enter the System Identity Account password and confirm it.

In a multi-server environment, you must configure all systems part of your multi-server setup with the same System Identity Account password.

Step 11 Enter the CiscoWorks Common Services database password and confirm it.

While entering the CiscoWorks user passwords, use a minimum of eight characters.

Step 12 Enter the SMTP server name.

Step 13 Enter the following information to generate a Self-signed certificate and key files for HTTPS:

•Host name

•Administrator's e-mail address

•Country

•State

•City

•Company

•Organization

Only the Host name is mandatory. Other fields are optional. Press Enter to skip other fields.

The installation program checks dependencies and system requirements and copies the files to the run time and the installation proceeds.

A message appears:

Do you want to see the passwords that were entered/randomly generated? (y/n) [y]

Step 14 Enter Y or press Enter to display randomly generated and manually entered passwords.

A message appears:

Exiting installation beyond this point might result in system instability.

Do you want to continue the installation? (y/n) [y]

Step 15 Enter Y to continue the installation.

If you stop the installation after this point, the installation may become unstable and problems may occur when you try to install again.

It takes a while to complete the installation.

The following messages appear at the end of the installation:

Any warning and error messages appear after these messages.

Installing the CS DST Patch on Solaris

The Common Services Daylight Saving Time (DST) patch will update the JRE and JPI that are shipped with Common Services. The DST can be installed on a server that has CS3.0.5 already installed.

QPM 4.0 product DVD contains the CS DST patch as setup.sh, in the folder qpm4_0/US_DST_Patch/cwdst3_0_x_sol_K9. You can directly run this installation program, without the need to download and unzip the CS DST patch from Cisco.com

Installing QoS Policy Manager on Solaris

QPM is automatically installed in the CiscoWorks Common Services installation directory. The default location is /opt/CSCOpx. The installation process also copies the QPM export and import utilities to the QPM server.

Before you begin:

•Ensure that CiscoWorks Common Services 3.0.5 is installed on your computer before you begin to install QPM.

•Verify that you have superuser permissions.

•Verify TCP ports that QPM uses and check for conflicts with existing applications.

•Verify that the ports used byQPM are not being used by another application. QPM uses these ports:

–51099—JNDI lookup port

–51199—JRMP lookup port

–51299—Admin page port

–43460—Database port

–49156—EMS database port

–51399—PDP port

–61162—SNMP port for RMON traps

–47001—RMI port for EMS

–47002—RMI port for Collector Services

To install QPM 4.0 on Solaris:

Step 1 Go to the root directory and mount the QPM 4.0 DVD on the CiscoWorks Common Services server.

We recommend that you do not install QPM from a network DVD drive.

Step 2 Enter the following at the prompt:

# cd /dvd/qpm4_0/QPM_4_0_installation/Solaris_K9

# ./setup.sh

where dvd is the mount point for your DVD drive.

A message appears prompting you to read the license agreement.

Step 3 Press Enter. Continue to press Enter until the prompt to accept the license agreement ends.

Step 4 Enter either:

•Y to accept the license and proceed with the installation,

Or

•N to deny and stop the installation.

The installation proceeds if you have selected Y.

Step 5 Enter the mode of license to be installed (Purchased Version or Evaluation Version)

The installation proceeds based on the mode of license you selected.

After the installation is complete, you do not need to restart the computer before running QPM for the first time.

8 Verifying the Installation on Solaris

QoS Policy Manager is accessed from the CiscoWorks Homepage.

To verify QPM installation:

Step 1 Go to your web browser and start CiscoWorks.

The default URL is http://QPMinstall:1741, where QPMinstall is the name of the computer with the QPM installation.

The CiscoWorks Home Page is displayed.

Step 2 Verify that the browser you are using is a supported version, and that JavaScript and cookies are enabled.

If they are not enabled, change your browser preferences to enable them, then continue to the next step.

Step 3 Log into CiscoWorks with your username and password.

The CiscoWorks Home Page appears.

Step 4 Click the QoS Policy Manager link in the QoS Policy Management panel.

QPM opens in a separate browser window.
