Release Notes for CiscoWorks LMS Portal 1.2 (With LMS 3.2)

These Release Notes apply to CiscoWorks LMS Portal 1.2, running on Windows and Solaris platforms and include:

Key Features
The following are the new features and portlets in CiscoWorks LMS Portal 1.2:
•
Multi-community Support:
Portal Framework supports multiple communities within a single portal engine. This enables the LMS and non-LMS applications to share a common portal framework.
•
Embedded View
You can render another servers or same servers page as a URL.
•
Read Only and Default Views
These are the two new views in this release:
–
Read Only Views: You cannot modify or delete any portlet from this view. For example, Functional View in LMS Application.
–
Default Views: These views are provided based on the type of views set by the applications. For example, Functional View in CiscoWorks LMS Portal.
•
Banner Modifications:
The CiscoWorks LMS Portal home page has a banner, CiscoWorks LMS Portal.
However, if you have multiple communities and if you switch among multiple communities, the banner changes, accordingly.
•
Child View
You can add a child view or sub view within a main view
•
View Hide
The View Hide option enables you to conceal the views that you do not use. However, when you conceal a view, it does not get deleted.
•
Friendly URL for Views:
The Friendly URL feature helps you to directly launch a particular tab or a view of a portal. You can assign names to these views and launch it as a URL.
For example, the URL will be http:// hostname/group/communityname/actual view name.
•
Launching Portlet List
Allows you to launch the list of single instance portlets that are available in the portal using the Portlet List icon.
You can also launch the list of portlets by giving a friendly URL: http://hostname:port/cwportal/PortletList) directly in the browser
•
Alerts and Summary Portlet
Captures the alarms and notifications from different applications within LMS.
•
Frequently used TOP N workflow portlets
Replaces the top five workflow demo portlets in LMS 3.1. Instead of one portlet with the top five workflows, this release has a set of set of workflow demos for each applications.
•
Top-N- POE Utilization portlet
Enables you to monitor power usage at PSE and Port levels. This also displays the minimum, maximum, and average power utilization of Network devices in Health and Utilization Monitor.

TrendWatch portlet
Allows you to view the summary report of the TrendWatch violations that has occurred.
•
HUM Live Graph It portlet
HUM Live-GraphIt portlet allows you to troubleshoot issues with network elements.
This portlet allows you to perform a near real-time monitoring of the health and utilization parameters such as, CPU utilization, interface utilization, power utilization and so on.The minimum time interval that is supported is 30 seconds.

Custom Top N Records portlet
Enables you to view Top N reports on user-defined templates for which pollers are created.
•
Histo-Graph It portlet
Allows you to select two MIB variables in the configuration and generate an overlay graph.
•
Technology portlet
Enables you to group all technology (GOLD, EEM, and SCH) related links that are displayed below the Shortcut section of the RME portal.
•
Top N Syslog Sender portlet
Displays the TOP N devices sending more number of Syslogs in the last 24 hours.
•
Syslog Message portlet
Displays the Top N Syslog messages based on the severity type, message type, facility and mnemonics in the last 24 hours.
•
Syslog Summary portlet
Displays the 24-hour Syslog event distribution, as a pie chart.
•
IPM Collector Information portlet
Enhanced to provide information on the total number of collectors.Syslog Summary portlet.
