Events Processed

Table D-1 lists all possible events you might see in an Alerts and Activities Detail page, along with the following:

Description: A summary of the event, including typical causes (if known).

Trigger: How IP Telephony Monitor (ITM) learns of the event — either from normal polling, a threshold that was exceeded, or a trap that was received.

Severity: The severity that ITM assigns to the event—critical, warning, or informational.

Device Type: The devices, as classified in ITM, on which the event can occur.

Event Code: The code used by Notification Services to track changes to default ITM event names using the Notification Customization feature. (For more information, see the "Customizing the Names of ITM Events" section.) This feature is available only if you have downloaded and installed Incremental Device Update (IDU) 4 or later from the ITM download site: http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/item-3des.

Event names correspond to what is displayed in the Description column of the Alerts and Activities Detail page. The only exception is the SuspectPhoneDetected event, which is shown only in Fault History displays. (A suspect phone is a phone that cannot register to a Cisco CallManager.)

The events a device can report are determined by the device function. The Function field in Polling and Thresholds corresponds to the Device column of the Alerts and Activities Detail page. For information on which threshold categories apply to which device function (or device type), see Table 17-7. To determine which threshold triggers which event, see Table 17-8.
